Sometimes, I wonder if this is a smash fan site or a concentration camp

The only two groups I can understand for being made are the groups made for tourney hosts and the group of smash elites.

The whole debate hall thing is another monster, and rest assured when I can find a day where I am not too preoccupied with my own crap that I will eventually post a thread that rips the Debate Hall a new ******* and forcefeeds it through their eyeball, all the while tossing it up in a slimy bile only to be reconsumed through the nose.

It surprises me day in and day out how a forum of this magnitude can thrive with all this crazy tension in the air. You can statte that it is not like that all you want, but denial is not a healthy thing to endure whatsoever.

Honestly, this isn't even aimed at the mods for the most part; they do a great job of quelling the flames of rebellion against the harsh system the users are forced to be constrived under.

No, this is about segregation of the masses through other means. Melee faithfuls, Brawl faithfuls, pro players, casual players, trolls, noobs, flamers, and "the debate guys."

There is no healthy meeting of all this to create a tame enviroment. You might be asking how that would even BE possible, and the short answer that it is not; but in other scenarios, the tension helps cater to a tolerance level where the individual user groups either ignore the opposing group as a whole, or acknowledge them, but secretely loathe them.

I just find it curious how a place with so much tension can thrive.

Ever notice that?

That's a good point. The thing is, a lot of groups don't get along great. Ever seen the Brawl General discussion board? Sometimes it's insane.

I don't understand what you mean when you say "The whole debate hall thing is another monster."

I promise I will get to that later about the Debate Hall thing. My hands are completely tied with finding a job and just relaxing. That thread will be massive, so I am trying to mentally arm myself for it.

Nice title! Looks like some random pointless thread in the General Brawl, but this actually seems interesting!

Well, Melee and Brawl faithfuls should be expected to not get along. Casual players are disrespected for no reason (I say again, this is NOT a competitive oriented site), and we were all scrubs at one point.

Large forums, by their very social nature, get broken down into groups. It's a lot like high school, if you will.

When I first joined, I was a noob, a scrub. I learned what tiers were this year. After a while now, I'm finally decent at Brawl.

I disagree Skyler this site is largely dedicated to competitive players, or for betterment of ones skills.

I'm not saying that it's mostly used by competitive players, but that's where we have a difference between general Brawl discussion and tactical Brawl discusison. Anyway, if you want to continue debating this, PM me about it because that's off-topic from the thread.

It is kinda dissolving from that nowadays don't you think?
Well, that's pretty much what you said in the OP. There are different groups of people who think different things. Melee fans tend to think Brawl sucks. Brawl fans tend to think that Melee isn't as good as Brawl. I'm not trying to make a scapegoat out of those groups, but that's how it is.

Wait like 2 years and it will be back to the competitve smash site it once was. The people who are caught-up in this Brawl hype will leave.

Well, casuals have been made to look very bad... Some of them may actually be casuals, but I think a lot of them that come to this forum and bash the competitive mindset are merely trolls and don't really care for anything other than to stir up trouble.

It saddens me, because I'm a casual, but I do realize that there is nothing wrong with the competitive mindset, and that we all play for fun... Yet, I'm labeled a "n00b" with the rest of the casuals. -_-

The group for debaters is just to stop people from walking in, posting some lame argument/flame bait and never posting again. It was rampant before we added the group. In fact if you check what you have to do to gain entrance, it's not hard at all, just send a decent argument on something to Crimson King (I think, that's still how to get in, been a while)

To be honest, I don't see your point. Most of those 'segregations' are things that people call themselves. I've never seen anyone call someone a "Melee Faithful"

Thanks for invalidating the death of 6 million Jewish people (13 million people in total) by comparing the death camps to an internet forum. Unlike them, you don't have to come here. It's optional.

Classes exist in all societies. It's just how it works.
