Something annoying about B- MAX 1.01

I have a serious problem with the hackless version of Brawl- MAX 1.01. I've tried everything I can to get Smash Stack to work, but nope. Even without Riivolution stuff, the Stage Builder screen says my SD card is empty which I know is a lie; I have the mod there, after all. Am I doing something wrong or is this method not really hackless? Answers would be much appreciated.
