Tell/link me what the most recent leak is and I will. I just googled "most recent smash 4 leak" and all I got was a bunch of fake character select screens haha. My bad, I usually like to be surprised by it you know? Instead of knowing everything before I even play the game. I've seen some gameplay though. Tell me what the leak is and I'll tell you haha.

Edit: Yeah I know. But I literally have nothing to contribute to anywhere other than what I want to post linkwise. I don't want to go post something useless in another thread. I'll just take my risks here.

I don't know all the details, and what I do know is hearsay. Some guy posted this on 4chan earlier this week (I think) and since then people have been tearing it apart trying to find issues or inconsistencies with the images to disprove it. Others say that because of the quality of the renders of unannounced characters and other details that supposedly only an insider would have access to, the leak is real and this is the final roster.

Edit: If you want something else to write about, what do you think today's PotD will be? Given that we got 2 villain ATs and an alternate costume (fairly high amount of content for 1 week, relatively speaking), do you think Sakurai will try to cap off the week with a bang (like a character reveal)? Or will he think we've had our fill of goodness and post a more generic picture?

Duck Hunt dog?? Hahahahaha. I actually got a laugh out of that. I was going to say "I dunno.. It looks like it could be legit, but Koopa kid feels a bit out of place for me" Now I don't even know what I have to say haha. Also, maybe I'm behind but there's two pits? Dark pit? I dunno man... Also, DLC? I really hope that's not the real deal. I'd be disappointed to say the least.

Edit: I forgot to reply... Does that matter? Can I go back and make it a reply after I post it?
Edit2: I doubt we'll see a sweet character reveal for a bit. Like I said I haven't been keeping track. Really only been watching the videos. Those get me hyped too much.

Assuming that the reply system on here works similar to that of instagram, I'll post what would be a 3rd edit as a reply since I forgot to the first time. About the roster, the smash games all have a tendency to group together characters of similar origins. That being said, Dr. Mario is all the way on the other side of the screen, where game and watch is on the top row with all of the Mario characters. That's another reason to doubt it's legitimacy.

I don't think it really matters if you hit reply or not, especially since it's just you and I in this thread. I think the "reply" is there more for clarity, like if you want to quote something someone said earlier in the thread. Otherwise I don't think it's a big deal, I still got the alert that you had posted here.

As for the characters, yeah Duck Hunt Dog is one of the more "out there" ones. Bowser Jr seems to have a fanbase but I don't think he's in, I mean we already got Rosalina as a Mario newcomer. As for Dark Pit (I think his name is Pittoo?) I heard that he was a fanfic creation of some sort, but I could be wrong. I mean he did have that appearance in the Palutena reveal. And I agree with you about DLC, I'm hoping that at least isn't true, even though I think the leak is fake. The problem is that even if the leak is fake, there could still be some truth to it, and that worries me a little. Oh well, nothing to do but wait for the game to come out I guess.

Same here, on the one hand I miss the good old days when I first played Melee, and I got really hyped every time I faced a new fighter. At the same time, now I crave any information I can get my hands on and it's way more accessible than it used to be.

And yes, the character placement, especially all the "clones" being grouped together instead of with their franchises on the roster, is supposed to be a strike against its legitimacy. However, the counter to this has been that in Melee Pikachu was up on the top row with Bowser and Mario until all characters were unlocked, and only then did he move to the bottom row with the other Pokemon. The problem with that argument is that there's a big ? about whether Mewtwo is playable or not, which would mean that this might not even be the entire roster (assuming it is true).

That's a good point. There really is no way to tell anything haha. Let's have a bit of fun though. Some conspiracy theory/speculation type stuff. Let's say that this was in some form "legitimate". Like that this was a screen somewhere and someone took a picture of it. What if whoever was involved of the making of that screen was making it inconsistent for the sole purpose of fake leaks/raising hype? You know those goons at Nintendo have that sense of humor. They might be sitting back in their chairs right now laughing at all the commotion they've caused, hahaha.

In all honesty I don't really like the idea of my three years lurking not counting for anything, but that's a useless complaint. Another thanks for teaching me a bit about the posting/replying system here. I guess they were trying to go for people getting a little knowledge under their belt prior to posting larger things, but again, useless.

No problem, nice talking to you. And honestly, that seems as plausible as anything at this point. The thing about this leak, is that are some things that are really well done. Like that Duck Hunt Dog render, my god it looks professional-grade. Other things, like Ganondorf's or Wario's pictures, look really dark and inconsistent with the lighter coloring of the rest of the faces. Honestly, how funny would it be if it was Sakurai all along who posted this as a joke, without even having any of the real unannounced newcomers?

It could also be like you say, someone got a shot of the real deal, but to make sure it threw everyone into chaos, they purposely messed with some of the images to make it look less consistent. It's crazy stuff to think about...

Ah, I originally meant Sakurai and crew were the ones making it inconsistent, my bad, I wrote that in a pretty weird way.
Now that you say that though... That makes it even stranger. With how good the duck hunt and whatever else looks, it shows how good the person that may or may not have made the fake screen "is" at making them. Enough so that if they were as good as we're claiming that they could make it look flawless, but chose not to for any number of reasons. Throwing all that into the mix is making this all way too crazy haha.
