So oddly enough I've never really been that interested in Fox until now (he just feels right compared to how he did previously. Yeah I'm backwards) and I've been really wanting to pick him up but there's some issues that I'm curious if anybody else has dealt with along with a question:
  1. How in God's name do you kill with him?! There's the obvious upair and upsmash and a charged fsmash might do it but are there any good setups that you can do?
  2. In an online matches where there's a lot of lag this issue seems to affect Fox (in my opinion) more so than the other characters. I feel like this is because Fox has to be very precise in his movement and his smashes and though this obviously is unwanted for any character, I found that other characters can handle the lag (and at least move or retreat into a safe spot until the lag subsides) while Fox has bigger issues. Again this is just from what I've noticed feel free to disagree since I've only just started seriously considering picking up Fox and trying him on For Glory. This issue was present with my other two mains but it didn't seem like that big of an issue as it did with Fox.

I've gotten kills set up off of fast fall Fair. It cause a hardknock down/ ground bounce which gives you a free upsmash. Guaranteed death at higher percents. It also spikes when people are trying to grab the ledge. Ive been able setup upsmash off of the jab cancel as well. People try to pull away during the jabs and I upsmash like a combo. Works great at higher percents but could also be due to peoples bad choice during the jab cancels. Also at mid percents I believe up tilt to upair is a thing but I havent trained that yet enough.

Up Smash, up air, and bair are generally Fox's BNB kill moves. I find in this game it is hard to get guaranteed kill setups without reading your opponent. Fox's most guaranteed setup is a SHFF fair to Up Smash. This is only guaranteed if your opponent misses their tech in front of you. If they miss their tech behind you, up-tilt to up-air is also effective. Dash attack is a good setup into up-air at higher percents. Bair is best used as a mix-up approach (RAR bair), to finish off an aerial juggle (perhaps after fair), or an edgegaurd tool. The best advice I have for killing with Fox (and this game in general) is being very conservative with your kill moves, the more you spam/whiff them, the more stale they get. So use them only when you have the read or combo.

I've found it extremely difficult to use Fox in a laggy For Glory match. I can't tell you the amount of times my failed run-up shield has been met with a scrub's random smash attack. However, in non-laggy matches where Fox is doing everything you input, he's not someone you wanna sleep on. Most people I feel don't know how to deal with Fox's pressure and combos, as I've found once I have the momentum, it's easy for me to juggle them till they're dead. For Glory is kinda lame anyways as most people just camp/roll making it annoying to play against them in a laggy environment as Fox because you constantly have to approach, and can get punished hard for a mistake. Lasering can still help rack up damage/force an approach though, especially on the scrubs in For Glory.

i agree gunslinger. it sucks playing as fox on for glory and with a 3ds. there have been many times where i know i can beat an opponent and they are easy to read but i can make the right inputs like trying to utilt instead of usmash or even wanting to do dsmash. times i wanted to short hop but do a full hop or even do fox's bread and butter run to usmash but ended up running past them or doing it too early. fox requires alot of precision since he has such a small reach is so fast and is close up fighter. his dsmash is also great for kills i notice as well since people know to avoid the usmash. it knocks the opponents downward and at decent % most charaters cant get back.

Thanks for the advice on his kills, I'll keep that in mind! Yeah Fox seems to be one of the most hurt by a lag for glory. Have you stopped playing For Glory as a result since a lot of people just spam rolls and Little Mac? Also I had a bunch of people try to come up near me by rolling when I'm shooting my blaster. Needless to say a swift grab or jab dispatches that quickly

I still play For Glory, although until I find someone good I'll just play "sets" with scrubs. So, typically I'll just beat them twice then leave. Haha, when people roll to approach I honestly can't believe it, like there are more buttons than L/R. Jab or grab is a good punish, sometimes I'll even just hard read the roll with a smash attack. I just wish the punish window wasn't so small, makes it even harder online.

the punish window is small but it will be just fine playing offline or "maybe" on wii u for glory. i was playing against a greninja and thats pretty much all he did was roll. so i rolled with him for a bit but than i started slowing down not using rolls so much and noticed he would get right behind me or in front so i would dmash and he was shut down after that.
