Some questions about Lucas

My main is Lucas of course,Ive been playin him ever since brawl came out.

And Ive noticed something about him that gets very annoying...is it jus me or does he trip more than any other character:confused:...Ive played as other characters(my secondaries) and the only two that trip almost as much as Lucas is Zelda and Wario:confused:Why does he trip so much is it the b-sticking or is it apart of his clumsy nature??(sorry if this was already discussed)

Another question I have,is Lucas meant to played defensively of offensively??... The reason I ask is.. .Ive played alot of Lucas's online, most are agressive and use their smash attacks alot, while others dodge alot and use PK fire spamming.

My last question is a personal one, How can I be more unpredictable with Lucas?....I played a series of friendlies online against some very good players and i was doin good...at first, i was winning all my matches with Lucas, but as the we kept on battling they must have caught on, because I started gettin in last place everytime:confused:...Even with my secondaries who won a couple matches(Zelda and Ike)...I jus dont know how dat happened, Im so confused:confused:

Tripping isn't character biased, but it depends on how you smash your control stick to move.

Lucas is better played defensivly, but it comes down to matchups and what helps you win more.

Just keep mixing it up with pkfires, nair, fairs, and other moves with Lucas to stay unpredictable.

Lucas DOES trip more than other characters... at least if you keep pressing up on the + shaped part of the Gamecube controller.

Hint: set your C-stick to your special attacks. Use that. More often than not, players will accidentally or instinctively smash the analog stick to use an attack fast. This adds to the tripping issue. Using the C-stick will 100% prevent you from tripping when you go to use a special attack.

But then you have the increased chance of tripping during a fsmash
But I still advise B-sticking. PKF is more important to me than the stick and I'd rather trip trying to hit someone with the stick rather than PKF.

Lucas does trip more, but thats the way he is. Playing Lucas involves moving a lot and changing direction, so it is easier to trip.

I agree with this statement. I believe the way Luca plays makes him trip more. Even my friends ask me why I trip so much (they don't play Lucas). But I often don't find tripping that much of a hinderance to my game. Maybe I'm not playing good enough people? But you can still atack out of a trip or roll, which usually catches the opponent off guard.

That's for me to know
I'm not sure if you want to b-stick this early while you are trying to master Lucas's basic techniques... I haven't even gotten to that point... As for the tripping, it only occurs if you dash A LOT. Whenever you start a dash, the starting animation has a chance of making you trip. The reason why characters like Zelda don't trip that much is because a lot of their game is in the air or in Wario's case, on a motercycle...

I heard if a Lucas player doesnt b-stick they wont be an effective player???
and for some reason my Zelda trips alot...lol...I didnt know she was an aerial fighter...i thought her ground game was good because of her fast smashes

B-sticking is completely unnecesary IMO. I never B-stick and I beat a lot of good players with Lucas. I'd rather have more control over my aerials.
