So I was using the 78 stage expansion for Project M, but when I boot it up, it goes into the wrist strap screen.

I got a gameconfig.txt. I don't know what causes this. Anyone know?

What I normally recommend to do when codes aren't working is to try loading via Gecko OS instead:

  • Install GeckoOS to your SD card (download link, copy the boot.elf from /Gecko1931/HBC/Gecko1931/ to your SD card root)
  • Load GeckoOS via the Stage Builder
  • Go to "Loader Config"
  • Change "Hooktype" to AXNextFrame
  • Save your settings
  • Return to GeckoOS main menu
  • Boot game

If you're using Homebrew, just install it like any other app.

Also, I have an SDHC card with Gecko. I tried your method but it did not work.

Do you have the Homebrew Channel? The only way for an SDHC card to work is by loading the standard PM launcher via the Homebrew Channel, or the Letterbomb exploit.

I thought Gecko would work with SDHC. But the launcher is a problem.

The launcher NEVER boots up, It just goes to a black screen when starting the launcher.

Also my SD cards are being jerks. They're not extracting all the files. >:(

Gecko doesn't work with SDHC last time I checked. The launcher not starting, I'm not sure about. Maybe try downloading it again?

What do you mean by this?
You extract the files on your computer, then copy the extracted files to the SD card. Is it that the SD card isn't storing all the files?

When I extract them on my Ubuntu, it extracts but either gives an error, or extract only private, codes, and projectm.

The projectm folder doesn't contain everything.

Yes it is. I downloaded 2 copies. I dunno why my Ubuntu is acting up though. I don't have permissions to extract on 1 SD card. There is an error when I extract 1 card, and that other extraction problem thingy.

It's simply:

An error has occurred while extracting files.
You don't have the right permissions to extract to SD card.

I'm sorry, but I am really stupid, so what do you mean by root access?

Open the terminal, and enter
Code:
gksudo nautilus
It'll ask for your password. If it accepts it and loads the file manager, you have root access, and should now try extracting the files to the SD card again.
If it rejects it, you don't have root access.

It didn't show anything, but when I try to exit, it says the process is still running.

So no, you don't have root access.
Have you tried extracting to a folder on the computer, and then copying the extracted files to an SD card?

No, it says there is no space, but that mod is LITERALLY the only thing on there.

Delete all files on the SD card.
Right click the SD card in the file manager, under "Devices".
1. in the "Basic" tab, check how much free space is available.
2. in the "Permissions" tab, check who is listed as Owner.

Hmmm, seems I have stuff, but the stuff won't show.

The owner is me.

Thanks, but do you know how to delete files that are not showing?

Even when extracting it says nothing is there, but extracting gives an error.

Ctrl+H while in the SD card in the file browser should reveal if there are any hidden files.
Since you're owner, there shouldn't be any problems with permissions...

It seems I can't delete a folder called .Trash-1000.

What Rubbish Bin?

I'm still not used to Ubuntu a bit, the cmd was a lot better, but my Windows computer broke, and my dad gave me a used one that my mom does not want, but it is an Ubuntu.

Press Windows+T to open the Rubbish Bin. It should also be in the bottom-left of the launcher (assuming your Ubuntu version is 11.04 or later).
Coming straight from Windows to Ubuntu can be a bit of a culture shock at first, but you do get used to it if you keep at it. The terminal/command prompt is very different - Ubuntu's is far more powerful, and gives you much more control over your computer. For me at least, the only reason I still have Windows on my computer is because not all software is fully compatible with Ubuntu, though most have equal or sometimes better alternatives.

Oh sweet, 2.0 more now. Thanks!

Dunno how you use Ubuntu though.

I'll tell you if it worked via an edit.

EDIT: Thanks! It worked!
