Heh, everyone thought these topics were dead! WRONG!
(I had a virtual Gollum/Smeagol argument with myself as to whether this should be in the General Brawl or Character sections. Don't ask me to go into it .)
Okay, all these characters fit into the 'possible but not playable' camp, so letsa go!
Mach Rider
Ah, Mach Rider (doggalina, I owe you one). The dude on the motorbike with guns. Repeat: a bike with guns. Let that sink in. Anyway, his first appearance was on an old NES game titled, obviously, Mach Rider, where the hero had to destroy evil aliens with his motorbike between towns.
Pretty hard to be playable, yes, but a perfect AT character.
Now, I'm just guessing his attack would involve racing onto the stage and firing shots from his bike.
Just guessing.
Maple
No prizes for guessing what she is. Maple first appeared in the Zelda 'Oracles' games
(don't I just love them, eh?).
In game she used to ride around on her broom, smashing into Link and scattering his items and health. Then there was a mad race to pick them up.
Maple could easily perform a similar role in Brawl, flying around the stage, crashing into people (for massive damage *coughcough*), and scattering random items (bombs, health ups, etc.) everywhere.
In all, a really fun AT that could heal or damage people. And she's pretty cute too...
Richard
I saw this one up on IGN, so why can't I put it here too? Richard was first shown in Kaeru no Tame ni Kane wa Naru (For the Frog the Bell Tolls), a Japan exclusive game. He also made a cameo appearance in Link's Awakening.
The game he starred in revolved around transforming into animals to save a princess...yada yada.
Since frogs pay such a large role in his game, I would suggest, like IGN, that Richard could summon a huge storm of frogs to flatten everyone on the battlefield, and then maybe a snake to finish it off (the other animal in the game).
I really like this guy anyway (maybe because he looks a lot like me, and does fencing, I dunno). Richard for Brawl!
Palutena
Yes, the infamous one from the story mode.
Although Kid Icarus is a little small to have two characters playable, Platy would make a
great AT.
The description of her as a goddess of light leads perfectly into a possible attack. I was
thinking she could literaly swamp the battlefield with light, in a kind of reverse of the
nightshade pokemon attack in Melee, blinding everyone.
Okay, she's 'in' already, but will she be an AT?
Thank god that I have no life.
Yet.
