So, the Nintendo forums shutting down definately was a major bummer but this will be my new base of operations. If anyone actually remembers me I am Solesaver (my screen name is Trevbangin on the NSider forums.
I'm a little bit angree about this update. I mean, they really are just crying out for item haters to have more items to hate. As a 100% item user (it takes more skill that way) I don't need the "pros" to have another item to wave in my face and say "SEE SEE IT'S CHEAP, IT'S CHEAP!!!" Now we have a more powerful hammer that lets you fly. Just what I need.
Here is a quote that I found interesting. "And it's even more rare." Does this signal a new approach to item switch? I hope they are taking it out all together just to prove to the tournaments that items are an important part of Super Smash Bros. I can't imagine that we would make that statement if you could modify its scarcity but it probably just means that the default for 1P mode and/or when more than one item is available it is a rare item.
So, where do you guys think it is from? I have heard that it is from Paper Mario. Personally, I say it isn't because it is the wrong shape. Others say the original Donkey Kong game. I think that one makes more sense. I'm more curious about that pedestal. In what Mario game do you get items (or just the golden hammer I guess) off of a Pedastal.
Are thinking what I'm thinking? Prolly not. You know how Sandbag sympathizers have been saying they should switch around the Home Run Contest for years. This could provide the perfect venue. Somehow you have to damage yourself a bunch, pick up the Golden Hammer, and get hit by something very powerful. Then fly as far as you can with the Golden Hammer helping you fly! Ok, so it is a stupid idea, no flames please.
I think it is safe to say due to repetition that all melee items are back? We see them in updates for other things without their own update. I think by the fact that he has implicitely updated so many (the hammer in this one) that he won't update any and we can just assume they are all returning.
Ok, this thought is totally random but it was sorta inspired by Peach flying with the hammer. Mewtwo doesn't actually hold the hammer. Can his psychic "hands" hold him up persay? Is he psychicly holding on to the hammer to fly? Do his psychic hands fly on their own? Could his flying psychic hands hold him up to fly? Why can't Mewtwo just levitate anywhere? He should be invlunerable.
Why does the golden hammer squeak?
Feel free to reply with your thoughts on my thoughts on Sakurai's thoughts. Or, just let this poor thread sink down to the bottomless abyss of un-loved threads.
