the Tails and Knuckles Mii costumes from Smash 4? Heihachi and Geno would be nice as well.

All of the third party costumes were cut. It likely had to do with licensing issues.

Pfff... Nintendo can tell SEGA how high to jump and they would do it. (Sad truth). Plus SEGA likes to put Sonic crap into everything possible for marketing purposes. I doubt that is the issue.
Also if you take a $ 3.00 character on the character (sorry $ 2.99) it is basically easy money for SEGA.

If anything they'd just re-sell the costumes as DLC again.

That is what I want, it is keeping back my league because I added Tails, Knuckles, Geno, and Heihachi Miis last time. (I also added Chrom and KRool but that problem was solved lol).
