That's why he was so against DLC characters and patches.
He said there would be no DLC other than Mewtwo and now look. Ryu, Lucas, Roy. A voted character, whoever it may end up being.

He said at one point (before the hoo hah patch) no more balance updates.
There were two more balance updates after that.

The man clearly thinks the game was completed the day it was launched.
