So, what's the current status on Walk-off stages?

So, last I heard, there are no chaingrabs in the game, correct?

And I know that CGs were the biggest (to me, the only) problem with walk-off stages.

I might have missed the discussion, but.... Now that CGs are gone (right?), can walk-off stages be competitive viable?
At least as counterpicks?

I still highly doubt this as you can easily throw your opponent near the KO screen for a easy win.

I'm pretty sure that they're banned due to throws near the edge being too good.

I don't seem them being legal since people would still just camp near the blast zone for easy kills which would make matches boring.

It sucks because I really wanted the Fire Emblem coliseum stage to be legal.

I see.. I wanted the Boxing Ring to be legal too. :( Guess we'll have to go FD mode on them.

I was also asking this because after seeing... shameful Villager videos of him abusing edge-camping, it would have been a great counterpick possibility. But I guess that's out of the question.

Here's hoping for a Melee Mute City-like stage to be revealed.

Little Mac is supposed to be kept in check solely by his poor air performance, and walk-offs mean he doesn't even have to worry about it. The same goes for any character that's balanced out by bad recovery, but LM is the ultimate example.

If by some chance the official rulesets start allowing walk-off stages, there might be some new clause about requesting a re-pick if the opponent is Little Mac. Or something.
