Considering there is a sound sample that highly suggests this mode and yet nothing was revealed in the direct.

Seems like they didn't show us everything or the mode was scrapped. Maybe it will be added in a future DLC?

Who knows what else is in storage for the SSB Wii U that was not shown in this direct?
