My friend and a few other say she is easy to use. Yet look at me.....

I wanna know, is she really easy, and if so, Im just plain stupid cause I used her for more than a year and Im still getting know where. The way I pratice and work hours of the night trying to get better, I should be nearly semi pro by now, I go to many tournies, play different people outside my crew. Watch vids, practice at home and with friends alot. Still nothing, People my crew members give me a hard time with Peach and they dont even use her. I dont have what it takes it seems if Peach can be picked up like that.Yet alone have other smash problems (Read the youtube attempt 2 thread and you see what I mean)

So is she that easy? If so, why?, If not why. Leave reasons for your answers, this wont change the way I feel, im just curious and want to know. Thank you and that is all

At low levels of play, she is. But when you play against pros, it's incredibly hard because mostly all of her **** is based on her opponents ****ing up (downsmashes, stitches, chain grabs, edgeguards). Add that to the fact that she can't run, which limits her already limited combo ability and the fact that her opponents can DI....Peach becomes one of the hardest viable tournament characters to use in tournament

Makes sense I suppose, and due to the fact that All the high tiers (not peach included) give her a really hard time, and in tournies that all you see so its hard to win one with her, and a good C.falcon too

Peach is really easy to use at first, downsmashing, etc. But you could say the same about Sheik, tilts into fair. Most characters are easy to use at low level play but at higher levels of play, Peach actually requires a brain to play. ****it, I have to go.

Peach is anythign but easy to use at good levels of play, she has almost no range in her attacks, she has to bait the *** out of her opponent to get in, yes, its easy to do her FC stuff, but itsnot easy to get in range and hit them, they dont outrange that many moves, u have to bait a lot.

Peach is definetly not easy to use when ur opponent is good.

Shes awesome though, and pretty **** sexy to win with :)

she is very easy to use at a lower level this is because of her smashes like Dsmash and becuase at lower level people would just go mad with the turnips and it would seem they are easy to use. but the higher levels you can clearly see a differnce in play the way they use the float cancel , the way they adapt themself to different situation.
she cant move very quick which makes things hard for her. i would not say she is easy character at higher level but easy at lower

And you can't get ANYWHERE in a year unless you're a smash prodigy like FASTLIKETREE or KoreanDJ. The only way to get better is to play better people. Money matches help too.

Well... just playing against better ppl won't do ****. You can play against better ppl, do a thousand money matches, and never get better!

questions a player should ask himself:

Am I learning something?
Do I got better reflexes? Can I read my opponent?
Do I see what works??? (It's really easy to see what doesn't though)

Do I really understand this videogame??

Basically, I dropped Peach because I simply didn't knew how to play her anymore... I do alot better with other chars now, cause I've built a solid strategy with them.

Am I learning something? At times no matter what I do I dont think so.....

Do I got better reflexes? No, My fingers tend to slip off and I can seem to be fast in situation thus I will block alot and wont move much.

Can I read my opponent? No, I try to think but cant get it down on what my opponent is doing, and if I can, I wont know how to deal with it

Do I see what works??? (It's really easy to see what doesn't though) No and if I do, it works for a short period of time

Do I really understand this videogame?? No I dont, I think I do when I seem to get the hang of things then it fails all over again.

There are the answer to the questions

Well I've got 3 things 2 say...

you never really got better (not bashing you, I guess it's sumting that you realized yourself)

And sry friend, Smashboards will never help you get past a certain level... I guess you're own your own now, sometimes you either got it our you don't

Most importantly, you NEED to have FUN. If you don't have fun, then quit the competitive game, seriously. You'll feel better doing things that you like.

To correct you I do have fun, I just dont like the fact on how im doing, which at times I start to play stupid to get laughs. My fun is destroyed out of he game, not in if that makes any sense

and were you not the one who said I have great tech skills and all and I should start going to tournies? So it was a lie. And I followed your advice. since that day I followed it. But its nothing. I dont listen or do as I feel, I try to take others advice for help and I get lashed out for it, and then I get comments from people on the site and in life when I try my best and do what I can and also win my matches. so fine then, I wont use this site for help since its not paying off, Im on my own then, and if I cant make pro or semi pro at least, which is what I want, then screw Dark.Pch and leave him the way he is, Just a Peach player. Im fine being just that

^^Plz don't say stuff liek ''so it was a lie''. ***** I just said that Smashboards can't help you get past a certain level... and that is very true. That's exactly why DoH told you to play better people, many stuff in fighting games can't be taught, you must learn them by yourself.

smashboards will get you to a level in which when you put down the game for a while, then go to play it your better

that's pretty much like a level below semi-pro

peach, she's easier to use than most characters, but she feels weird

look at it this way, the easier a character is to use, the harder they are to use at tournament level

the only character that is the exception to that rule is the ICs, they are very hard to use at both levels

whoops my bad, just thought we had another brother playing Peach lol

Be easy man, peace

ON TOPIC: Another reason why I don't like Peach is that in some situations it just seems that she needs to be played randomly in order to win. I mostly feel this when I'm fighting Fox/Falcon and we're in a neutral situation... those two are so fast that they can simply stay out of range of all your attacks if they have the room for it.

I try to mix up between some random attack patterns, while trying to read my opponent's patterns, and the match up quickly becomes a fast paced Rock/paper/scissors match where the opponent can see your hand 0.5 sec faster than you do... which is not a good thing.

I might be very wrong, but Peach seems to be too random at times and I'm the type of guy that needs to have a very detailed attack plan.

randomosity FTW. Anyway Dark Peach, i just gonna tell it to you straight. You constantly doubt your own abilities as a player. This gets you nowhere. heres something i saw you post earlier.

"and as you can see Im not a smart player, I try to think and watch my opponents in matches but it fails for me. You need brains to use Peach at high level play for her weakness can be abused easy. and its something I dont have"

who talks like that? no one who's good at this game doesnt have confidence in their game. Honestly, all you have to do is play to win. If your not winning, you figure out your mistakes and correct them. Its that simple. Plus, you are a peach player. Shes not difficult to control. She doesnt have a high tech skill requirement. Im posting now because ive seen you post a thousand of these self pity posts and it gets irritating seeing them. i kno im not the only one who feels this way. You've posted way too many videos asking for critique. sometimes you have to figure out what you are doing wrong on your own, look at whats getting you punished and stop doing it.

If you feel like you've peaked as a player, honestly, you should quit playing competitively and start playing for fun. Everyone who competes knows that they can improve and try to do so at every tournament. If you dont have that drive, idk what to tell you...

Smashboards will help someone graduate from scrub to someone who's just OK, because of learning about tournaments and advanced techniques. Posting nonstop on smashboards won't make you amazing, if that were the case KevinM and I would be pro by now. (oh wait, according to that thread in melee discussion we both qualify as pro lmao) You aren't going to be amazing in a short amount of time, unless your name is KoreanDJ. Just consider yourself lucky that you live in the city, where good players are easy to find.

Peach is easy to pick up and be OK with if you are already OK. Which is why my Peach is OK. Peach is also easy for a scrub to pick up, and beat other scrubs with. Peach is not easy at the pro level, but I'm going to argue that no character is easy in that sense. Your friends are all probably at least OK, which means that they can pick up Peach for a few games and be OK with her. You probably still know more about Peach than the friends that don't play her. Also, there's a huge learning curve between being OK and being pro. Ever wonder why the game has been out so long, and there's still only a handful of pros, relatively speaking? That should be your clue.

Ok thanks, and the day a prick like you dies and goes to hell will be the day the world becomes an better place to live. Cant wait. Lets he how many emails addresses you can make up before you finally can get off my cause. And if you keep on, well, I'll just ingnore you like I have before and just watch you get banned, I'm sure half or more of the people around here dont like your dumb azz anyway. So nice chatting with you for all this time, but I got bored, its no fun anymore.

Moving on.....
Well I know what I have to do, and I know my problems, and its already be stated by you al. The way I have been acting was because I just did not like the fact that

- People who just started got better than me in a few months

- I have played for a year and I have not gone very far really

- I dont have the common sense to use wave dash or dashdance right.

Well, screw all that ****! I have been going at it for a year, so why am I gonna quit now, People pick up faster than others. And the fact that I really never think of try to use my movement in a SMART way may be the problem. Cause I play many people, once better than me and some hi rank players in N.Y And I end up beating them at times. Now how is it that a person like ME can pull something like that off. I guess when it comes to playing people that can destroy me, my mind changes then playing others that I know. So all this Emo, cry baby **** ends here and now, and I'll swear that if this happens again, I'll retire from smash cause this is all stupid and should not make one go crazy, I mean its a game for crying out loud. I say to you all to get back to me in Aug. And you should see a change. Im also gonna have tourny matches recorded and keep getting owned by tuff players, before I use to be scared to play them cause I would feel bad about getting owned, but thats how those guys got better. So I'll do that same, and Mike G (who I played like 2 weeks ago when he came here), Told me the same thing. I guess I forgot. So thanks for the advice, I think I snapped out of it. Now lets see where I can really do from now on. I think I have not gotten better cause of the way I have been praticing here are things I have not really done....

- Play good players when I have the chance to cause I was afraid of getting beat bad.

- Try to play different when the way I play obviously does not work. So I pretty much fight the same.

- Try to study the frames and work on my reflexes.

- Use advice I get and try to but it to work cause im afraid of loseing.

Now Im gonna do all these things here, I'll get back to you guys in Aug and show you if I made some progress.

P.S if your wondering how I did against Mike G, First match he one stocked me, second match he 2 stocked me, He has not played in a while, but he was still a beast, I could not believe at the way he was playing for not playing so long. It was amazing, of course back in his prime he was a monster, when I fought him he was less than a monster but still crazy with Peach. and he also should me some tricks that I have been so stupid not to use. Saturday Im going to N.J to play a crew and some new people, I'll make sure to have vids to get an update on my progress and maybe some help as well. So thanks for the ones that were SO MEAN WITH YOUR DAMM COMMENTS!! Lol. j/k but it did help. well, guess this drama is over, but if there is more reasons you guys have on why she is not easy, please post them, I think other people need to see.

I'm a brother playing Peach! I'm a Mike G! =D

Now, back on topic.

Peach isn't really easy to play in a competitive level. Similar to Mario, upon some degree, she has to work her *** off beating her opponents (especially against her counters and especially against marth). You have to learn to make your FCs effective, which that isn't also easy. Peach maintains on her skills and luck. The skills of dishing out her moves, and the luck of pulling out the stitchface or item.

Bringing this back up... has any1 ever felt this while playing Peach? Usually I get better when turnips are involved (mostly because at this point, you can plan more detailed scenarios), but opponents quickly notice this and then use their speed to focus on countering my turnips... that's basically why campy Shiek, (good) Fox, and Falcon are my worst matchups (when using Peach).

EDIT: So a question I would like to ask you all is this... how random do you think your Peaches are in certain matchups? I would also really like to see some tourney Peaches answer to this question... thx

I feel that clarifying things is very important for this thread, ''Peach is easy to begin with'' has already been said plenty of times already.

For this reason I have trouble against all the hi tiers about Peach, and C.Falcon and a spamming Y.Link. (well a spamming Y.Link would let you come to him and hardly come to you so I could you can get your turnip game on) But the fact that all hi tiers over Peach make it worst

am i the only one who doesnt see young link as a threat?
No, but I don't use the princesses against Young Link much anymore.. ^_^ I'd say he's a threat for Peach, but not so much so that I'd call him a Peach counter. It's probably an even matchup. Which for Peach standards is more of a threat than most characters.

I'm not the best at SSBM, but I can tell you that the key to projectile usage is to know your ranges well, and to know what are your opponent's different counters for your projectile... then you can counter what your opponent tries against you

EXAMPLE: its been a while cause I dont play Peach much now, but there is a certain range against Marth where throwing a SH turnip then drifting towards him would be your best option... don't throw it too high, or else he can dash under it

If he's closer, then throw your turnip at him without jumping. Possible followups are dash atk/grab if he grabs the turnip, turnip regrab if he shields it, turnip regrab or combo if he takes the hit.

A bit more closer, pull out your turnip but don't throw it if he charges at you, you could shield his attack, and turnip him out of shield or sumtin. He might go for the dashgrab so watch for that.

Against Marth, if you SH turnip he might try to use a spaced fair to swipe it away... dash attack followup beats that IIRC

However, if he uses an agressive SH Nair (which will swipe the turnip then you right after), then it's better to drift backwards and shield the Nair... it's an easy shieldgrab cause the Nair was not spaced for the current option that ur using...

Dark.Pch, I posted this as an example... but that's just to show you my mindset behind overall projectile spamming. The info might not be 100% accurate, so I'll let the Peach players correct the mistakes there.

Peach has easy tech skill but hard to actually use at high level when people know what "camping" is lol

Getting better is just about staying calm and figuring out why you are losing and attempting to fix it. Trying too hard just makes you frustrated and you choke.

and thats something I have been doing, I have been praticeing the wrong way, and I choke when I fight Fox/ falco, marth and shiek. cause those 4 alone can pretty much abuse Peach. I guess its a smash phobia. I get nervous at tournies fighting one of those 4. and at times just in friendlies. cause face it, at pro level those four are a ***** to deal with. Guess its something I have to over come if I wanna be top peach cause in tournies thats all im gonna see

Uhhh, just play.... Every character i come across in tourneys counters my best 2 characters. So what do i do? I kick their *****! Or at least try to... If it's on film, that's when to analyze it, because mistakes are easier to see there. You'd get further if you just played, instead of making posts like these. If you want real help, find a better Peach, who could see a mistake you made that you never thought of as one. That's sort of what I did, and I turned it into probably the most helpful advice thread I could have had a while ago. Otherwise, it'd have ended up as a post like this, which doesn't generate much outside of attention....

I said its my problem, Im not seeking attention, and Every problem I have Im working on it. Im actually gonna try, and work my way to the top, the right way this time. I said my problem cause ryan made a post I agreed with, and I do choke when im nervous or frustrated when I try too hard, thus may be the reason I play the way I do now. But Im gonna take care of it, so dont take this as seeking attention of doubting myself, cause that is not happening here. I have a problem, and I said what it was, and I also said its something Im gonna have to work on, and I will. cause Peach in tournies is not so easy to get far, and if you do and even win a tourny with Peach, then your one tuff player and show you have what it takes, yes even for what others might say a cheap character such as Peach.

LOOL I guess all the black smashers should pick up peach...then peach would be god tier....atleast in america, eh?

I was gonna come with my flame gauntlets for all of you(you too drk peach) but its settled down a bit. Like I said before Drk Peach, play good people so u can see ur mistakes more easliy and play in more tourney to gain more exp. simple

If ur goal is to become the best peach in NY, USA or w/e or some cheezy goal like that, fine but take it one step at a time bro.

ok, for all of you wanna know for sure I'll say it now: yes , I HAVE RETIRED! i still play for fun because I love this game and you guys but I already reached my goal...among others it was to become a legend in the community with Peach. I would continue to compete but I dont really have the time to travel the country like I used to : /

Vanz if ur that white peach I played after Drk in nyc then good ****! its kinda like old skool me :)

DoH I like ur consecutive hits :)

ok *equips one flame gauntlet*
mouf: LOL child, who the hell are you?! how dare you insult one of my kids?! so I heard they like it bigger over there in TX? well ya know what? you can come here and choke on my big black COK!
