Smash Wii U So no offline tournament mode?

I have like 20 people coming over to play smash and was looking forward to setting up a bracketed tournament, but with my limited time with the game last night I was not able to find the mode, is it really online only?

I got a smash championship belt to give away and everything >.<

Wasn't it mentioned in the big "50 Things" nintendo direct that they were developing it and it was going to be released a little later?

There was a bunch of things they said that for, I assumed they meant the Online Tournaments that you can just drop into. I sure hope they add the mode for single player.

As Narth said I loved the feature in brawl, it's a great way to handle when you have a load of people who want to play, I think it's fun with even just a few people just to see the ladder and everything.

No, it's the one from Brawl; did you check all the menus? Things are structured quite differently from how they were in Brawl.

I only had time to make a cursory inspection but as far as I can tell its not in any of the menu's. Thought I seen it for a second because the 'Challenges' icon is a little trophy.

Hmm, I'll have to check it out when my copy arrives from Amazon. It should arrive within an hour or so. :D
