Lets face it...We all love melee. Since thats the case, rather than eliminating Ness, Marth, Mewtwo, Pichu, Jigglypuff, and other characters that are popularly bashed, why not just KEEP them, and only add onto the Melee roster? Isn't decloning, and improving characters a better choice then getting rid of them?
I realize that many people only talk about getting rid of characters because they dislike them, but still...I can't stand Ness, but I still want him in the game. Everyone who got into melee, was there because they belonged there...(thats right, including G&W) What makes characters less deserving of a spot now? Am I the only one who is sick of all of the anti-character posts?

I'm one of those that doesn't see any real need to exclude any of the Melee cast (yes, even Dr. Mario and Pichu). I feel that their being playable in Melee makes them significant enough to return as playable characters in Brawl.

At the same time, I don't really feel it's necessary to declone *every* single character, but I'm weird like that.

I dont actively want a character to be removed. But I wont shed any tears for Dr. Mario.

Jag förstår inte. Vad sa du?
I guess this is a bad place to remind everyone that Pichu doesn't deserve to return, and that Sakurai himself said not all Melee characters are returning? Okay then, I will just make this the Official Fail Pic Topic...

I know what you mean, about how decloning isn't "necessary," but it would give the game more depth, and would stop people from saying that the people don't deserve to come back. Why not appease peoples need to have new characters by decloning old favorites? (of course, I want as many new characters as possible too...call me spoiled :p)

Yeah, I see your point - I just think that certain characters are tailor-made to be "clones." Specifically, Dr. Mario, Young Link, and Pichu. Since these three characters are just other existing characters at different points of their lives, I think it's appropriate for them to share a few moves with their counterparts. Roy, Ganondorf, and Falco are completely different characters than Marth, Captain Falcon, and Fox, respectively, so it makes much more sense, in my opinion, for them to be treated as such in-game.

Rather than completely decloning Dr. Mario, Young Link, and Pichu, I think that they should have certain moves and a few of their attributes altered to further (but not totally) differentiate between them and the characters their movesets are derived from.

R.M.B. were else?
uh most of those characters you mentioned were only put in that way or at all was because of time restraints. I bet that half of them wouldnt have been put in at all if they had enough tim to put in more unique charaters. so no, not all of them should be in, only three or four and even only then if those four are decloned.

Or eliminated. Which is what is most likely going to happen.
