So i got an amiibo question

Alright so ive been playing with my pikachu for a while now, and ive been using this guide right here to help be train him:

Anyway something ive realized is i completely suck with pikachu. i hear about teaching it combos and such. so i thought let me practice on a level 9 CPU pikachu before i wail on my amiibo. I have yet to beat the computer while playing as pikachu so does that mean i should just let the CPU train him to 20 then? Are there other ways i can train him without having to play as pikachu? Also last question. Would it be possibly to train an amiibo using only CPU's?

Just teach it basic simple moves as pika hi. Spam Up b when recovering, spam down b when next to it, spam side b when close to it, and spam b when pretty far away and in mid air.
