So as the title says i e-mailed nintendo with the following message.

Nintendo,

Hi my name is Sheldon i've been a nintendo fan as long as i can remember and i've greatly enjoyed the many games you have put out over the many years. Now with the upcoming release of brawl in japan i keep wondering why is it that North America has another month to wait i've read other responses that you have sent to others that have e-mail you with the same question. The response they get back is essentially your still polishing the game now I don't believe that to be the real reason because if it were the case then the game would have been delayed another month over in Japan as well but it wasn't it was only 7 days so my question is why is it we have to wait another month for smash bros to come out in North America when Japan only had to wait an extra 7 days. I know that if there was a need of any form of post production done on the game then it would take more than 7 days. The only things extra i could see taking up more time for us would be the changing of Japanese text over to english and the voice over work for the english but if that game is coming out in Japan in 2 days that should have been well under way. So to wrap this up a repeat myself once more why the one month delay? why not one week like japan? i find it extremely hard to believe thats it's for polishing because it's coming out in japan in 2 days so I would like a real reason as to why it's been delayed one month just a good reason to quite my rampant curiosity, one legit reason and i will say fine, ok, I accept the month long delay.

Thanking you in advance.

Sheldon.

and this is the responce i got back i've seen other responses to letters other people sent in and i got less than them heh, i think i did pretty good.

Hi Sheldon,

While I appreciate your enthusiasm and interest in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, there is no additional information I can provide beyond what has been revealed on the official Super Smash Bros. Brawl website (http://www.smashbros.com/).

Sincerely,

Nintendo of America Inc.
Greg Hamilton

Wooo i didn't even get polishing for a reason just got the easiest way to brush it off.

Lol they are probably not allowed to tell you anything about it for legal/confindential reasons. It is because of localization though, I can almost guarentee it. No other reason would make sense for a different number of days delay that drastic.

Anyway they won't tell you anything real unless they want to get fired.

It's a robot that answers the same thing to any email to Nintendo concerning Brawl.

Send another one.

I dare you.

you got that because the only person who has ever been allowed to give out brawl info officially, or grant permission for others to give it out is Sakurai. Reggie couldn't even tell some dude from MTV back in August that Smash was gonna have online play because Sakurai had complete control over that announcenment and when it would be made.

You cant blame them, its called an NDA, I had to sign one to be a beta tester for DBZ and giving out even the slightest info can cost you your life.

Here's how I see it happening, and I'm sure it's been discussed to death elsewhere:

Sakurai & Co. took longer than they were supposed to in getting Brawl finalized and out the door for printing, hence the weeklong delay in Japan and the lack of availability. My guess is that they would have liked the extra few weeks (to correspond with the US delay) in order to build up supply, and NOA decided that they needed that extra time in order to get enough discs printed. So add on the week or so that got added because development went over to the extra couple weeks to print more discs, and you've got the extra month long delay.

Granted, that's all my inference; Sakurai said there were delays in completing the game, which is why I assume development actually went over. I'm also assuming that localization won't take any longer than was originally planned, so even though they'll be localizing it longer than they meant to, it'll probably be only by however long development went over. If Brawl launches and there's a shortage in North America this theory won't make any sense, but it's my best guess.
