Dude, ok.. I can sum all this up for you in one statement.

This roster + Krystal, Ridley, Geno, Isaac,Takamaru, K. Rool and like 5-10 other playable characters and No Subspace Emissary >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> What we got.

Don't get me wrong, I love the idea of a story mode, I think it's awesome... but I think they put too much focus on it. All the people working on the game and we still end up with like 4 clones... you know what? I think I kind of miss Dr. Mario now. Sad. And Roy.. dude, and Mewtwo.

Holy crap, if I'd known the roster was going to be this, then I would've said hey, just throw in all the old characters, you don't even have to update them, just like, give them a final smash or something, they don't have to be in Adventure mode.

So.. yeah to give you my opinion, I think that Sakurai went to far with the whole thing of Subspace. We wanted a brand new smash game.. sure we got some new thing, but heck, all I feel like we got was an updated version of Melee with a few replacement characters and a couple new ones. It seems to me like this is going to be a almost completely different game. Dude, Sakurai should've just made Subspace freakin emissary a seperate game. They could've made Brawl like it was supposed to be, like the other two smash games, centering around the heart and soul of smash.. the characters and whatnot.

I feel like Sakurai took the series in the wrong direction. I have no doubt that I'm going to love this game, a lot... but it's not going to be the game I imagined when I saw the first trailer.

Whatever, the game will still be good.

Its not like I'm gonna use every character in the roster. All I need is Kirby in and I'm fine. I mean, its not like everyone is like Azen and will main every single character, so why is everyone so mad about the roster?

If you don't like the roster, then LEAVE. Seriously, "AND NOTHING OF VALUE WAS LOST".

This game is so incredibly deep, we've gotten a gigantic crossover adventure mode, any real Nintendo fan's dream, a large collection of unique stages, wifi, tons of items, many new characters through assist trophies, the ability to create our own stages, third party support, and a large and diverse roster with many unique and singular characters. But no, all of you just keep complaining about R.O.B., who looks to be an original and brilliantly unique character. Get off of my internets, you people disgust me.

I have nothing wrong with ROB, bud.. in fact, I'm looking very forward to the character. I think he's an awesome addition! I'm disappointed with Wolf though. Krystal seemed the obvious choice over her.. But that's ok. I'll be fine with it. Like I said, I love the idea of this adventure mode, and the roster's fine, I'd just rather have had the Brawl we were all expecting before Subspace was shown.

Sorry you took what I said the wrong way, even though I came off as being negative anyway. Somehow I doubt you read the whole thing anyway, judging by what you wrong.

subspace is one of the things that makes this game not melee 2.0

So we can do the exact same thing that we've done since Melee was out? That may work for some however, myself and most I know, don't want everything exactly how it was before.

The something you have to consider, if they hadn't done the adventure mode at all, this game would probably have been out months ago with the exact same roster we have now or worse, they wouldn't have taken the time to develop anything more then they had to. They wanted it to be more then just Melee with some changes."

Did you say this is not a brand new smash game? Does Brawl not have 15x the s*** that was in melee? Do we not have upwards of ten new characters? Have you seen all the new modes and stuff he put in the game? I'm sorry, if this isn't a new games I must. You say you want a new game but your complaining about the very new, revolutionary, SSE. Brawl is the best game you gonna buy in a while. Please stop posting ****ty threads and get over yourselves. Or take you anger out like normal people and go cut yourself.

I respect your opinion, but I have to highly disagree with you. Pretty much with any fighting game, you're going to have some clones (I'm sure there are exceptions out there, I'm just not aware of them). I mean, the Soul Edge series has clones--quite a few of them, but the characters still work and are unique in their histories and character development.

You also have to take into consideration the amount of space that the software can handle. Sakurai's been wanting a more in-depth story for Melee, but Miyamoto wanted him to focus more on the multiplayer aspect. Sakurai finally got his chance to make that special story mode for Super Smash Bros. Since it does take up a lot of space on the disk (as well as all of the extras), some characters were eventually going to end up as clones due to the file size factor.

And a 35-character roster is plenty big for a game like this, in my opinion. If you got rid of the story and had more playable characters instead, yes, you'd be getting that larger variety of characters that you wanted, but there's also a point where too many is too many. A line has to be drawn somewhere. The amount of characters represented currently from each series (i.e., Mario, Zelda, Star Fox, etc.) depends on the popularity of that series (and the third-party factor, but we'll ignore that for the time being). Some series and games may be popular (like Golden Sun), but they aren't from a series that impacted Nintendo and the world in a major way (i.e. Mario helped save the video game market in North America back in the mid 80's, Metroid's use of a female protagonist during a time of all-male heroes, and Zelda and Star Fox for their software innovations, to name a few).

You still might not be happy after listening to my shpeal, which is totally your decision. I'm just stating my opinion on the issue. And to add another opinion--I am SO excited about SSE, mostly because I'm a sap for character development and storylines.

So what then?...would you rather have Melee 2.0 instead?

...Yes lets put melee with no upgrades except for Wi-Fi and call it a freaking day!! At least this way people can't complane when they find out nothing new was added because it's the same dang game!

You hate it that much? Stick to freaking Melee kid, your set for life...or maybe a few weeks...

And more stages that should be in...such as Hyrule 64, Dreamland 64, Fountain of Dreams, a new DK stage, a new SF stage, etc. Blargh.
