That's.....mindblowing.

Seriously. just a few weeks back I was discussing the probability of an Amiibo winning a tourney. To actually see it is just...mindblowing.

Just a few more years before Skynet takes over and enslave us all.

I'll go make my living will now, thanks a bunch @ Terrazi Terrajin Terrazi Terrajin

Keep in mind that high level amiibos generally have stat boosts and stuff so it's not really a fair victory.

The amiibo is secretly Melee Fox trying to win a Sm4sh tourney for his guys back home.

It's a prelude to an Amiibo skynet. With their enhanced stats and customizations, humanity will be doomed.

Keep in mind fully trained amiibo have about 1.5% damage and have higher proirity, so it probably wasn't by skill.

The average pro tournament player has 1.5x skill so it balances things out.

Well, yes and no.

Skill is one thing, but skill tends to be built around expectation and understanding of how the game works.

When a player comes up against an enhanced version of a character, you can expect that they're going to be thrown off guard by the differences. It's like if Bowser's moves were suddenly given transcendent priority, it would seriously screw up a lot of a player's understanding on how to fight Bowser.

Not to mention high-level Amiibos will have inhuman precision, responding to an attack before the person playing even inputs the button. Plus apparently even if you don't feed them anything, their damage output increases with level.

You may THINK the player trains the amiibo. The truth is that the amiibo trains the player. It learns from your weaknesses and forces you to adapt. It's all part of Nintendo's secret plan to create an army of super-Smashers. Soon the brainwashing will commence and we'll all be under the control of our plastic overlords...or it could be because of the stat boosts they get as they level up.

The Amiibo (Lv50 I assume) did not win, so it's not unbeatable by the pros.

After actually training up my Amiibo and paying close attention to whats going on, I've noticed that not only do they learn, but they get a passive buff as they level up to lvl 50. Along with this, any stats, effects or special moves it may have had are also always present, even when parts are off. With this knowledge, it is no surprise to me at all that the Amiibo beat so many people. In fact, the surprise to me is that it lost to someone without parts or those special level-based buffs. By the way, one of those level-based buffs is launch resistance, which is a huge game-changer. So in reiteration, I am very surprised that anyone could beat it at all.

This isn't necessarily the case. They do respond to your inputs, it's just unrealistically fast. The moment the input is done they already know what they are doing in response, where as most people need to see your actions to know what you're doing. They don't. They know what you're doing the moment you've put the command in.

It's this facet of CPUs that not only makes them inherently a bad training partner, but also sometimes incredibly and annoyingly difficult to fight.

So far I can definitely see the variety that an Amiibo brings to the regular CPU play style, and to me that's good enough. Shakes things up a bit. Plus they feel a bit like pets, kinda neat.

I wouldn't mind getting eaten by a Zero Suit Samus, especially with me inside her body.

The average pro tournament player has 1.5x skill so it balances things out.
Then the Fox just happens to have 1.5x air speed, jump height, run speed, shield health, shield damage nullification, weight, defense, fall speed and 0.66x the traction, shield degeneration and shield knockback.

Since skill>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>everything else NOW it's a fair fight.
