she's a female character. someone that is new and interesting. exclusive to Nintendo :p
1. Gender doesn't actually make someone more and/or less likely.
2. There are tons of new and interesting characters. What makes her so special?
3. Yes. But Sakurai has stated that 3rd Party characters need to be legendary for inclusion. Snake, Sonic and Megaman are, without a doubt, legendary. Bayonetta is no where near their status. The only other character that can compare is Pac-Man (sadly).

Eh. I think she'd be cool.

I mean, boobs and guns. Gets your testosterone pumping!

But at the same time, I can see that she might not be worth the effort. For a multitide of reasons.

However, I do recommend taking this conversation to the Bayonetta support thread before this is closed. This is technically the wrong place for character discussion.

To be honest I doubt it, unless the creator of Bayonetta and Sakurai are best buddies for life ~ Like with the creator of Snake!

XD Sakurai does whatever the f#@% he wants. There is no logic behind his actions.
I mean, have you seen the steel diver gun yet?
Anyway, Bayonetta has made an appearance in another fighting game in case anybody didn't know.
Google Anarchy Reins.

There is logic there, believe it or not.

Not quite sure about everyone's skepticism here - not only is she a Platinum character exclusive to Nintendo, she's practically first party at this point considering Nintendo is using her as their Wii U trump card. Plus, Sakurai and Kamiya are pretty good buddies the last I heard (either that or he's generally buddies with someone inside Nintendo) and I know Kamiya would love to have a character in SSB4 - some people have speculated W101 characters but, not only do they hold barely any significance, they're not really that interesting, meanwhile Bayonetta has a second game in the franchise upcoming and is hugely popular - not as huge as Snake, Sonic, or Megaman, but like I said, she's practically first party at this point. Anyways, main reason I'm so defensive is because I'm an enormous Bayonetta fan, and it'd be amazing to have her in a Smash game. Plus, like I said, she does have some pretty decent chances nowadays, and we could use some more female characters on the roster to fix up the pretty male dominated gender ratio (also hoping for a female FE:A rep) Oh, and lastly, I believe a leaker who said Megaman and Sonic would be in also said Bayonetta would be (he said this back in May I think?) so I've been holding that pretty close to my chest.

She'd definitely be an interesting and cool character, but the only problem being she uses a lot of guns lol. They can take them out like they did with Snake, but it detracts from her uniqueness (2 guns in hand and 2 on feet). It'd be like putting in Dante without his trademark pistols. Besides that, she still does have a pretty good movepool to choose from.

She was actually in Wonderful 101 too lol.

they managed to put take snake in and still retain is metal gear swag.

Bayonetta uses her guns to thwack people so I dont think it would be too hard to compensate

Falco, Fox, etc all use gun-like weapons. I don't see why she couldn't use hers as long as there are no proper BULLETS. They could surround her projectiles with effects (such as darkness so we don't see bullets) or, if there is no other choice, use lasers (the Bazillions from Bayonetta basically fire lasers, so it COULD be considered somehow canon)

1. This thread shouldn't be created here and will most likely get locked. This should be in the SSB4 Character Discussion area on SmashBoards and this sort of discussion should be in her support thread.
2. Bayonetta is definitely a character that is highly unlikely.
Sonic and Mega Man were put into Smash Bros. for not only their massive fan bases and popularity, but also for their history. Sonic deserves to be in Smash as he represents the rivalry that he and Mario once had and Sega has been getting rather close with Nintendo. Mega Man deserves to be in Smash as he is an important icon on the NES and was close with Nintendo since the NES debuted. Bayonetta is popular, but she isn't popular like Sonic and Mega Man are and she isn't legendary like they are. The only reason why she is worth discussing at all is just because Bayonetta 2 is getting released exclusively on the Wii U; the original wasn't even released on a Nintendo console.

Sakurai mentioned that Mega Man was a "special case" that is in "a league of his own"; the same thing can be applied to Sonic. They are both legendary icons and are very close to Nintendo. Bayonetta? She's not legendary like Sonic and Mega Man are nor is she very close with Nintendo. Her addition would be a very undeserving one.

But she's a little mature for Smash, don't you think?
I read that Bayonetta wasn't included in Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed because adding her could've affected the game's age rating. So, I guess you can say that she is too mature for Smash.

Eh. there are more deserving third party characters.

Snake, Pac-Man, Bomberman, Simon Belmont, Chrono...

Things like this irk me. Where is it you get to decide whether a character is deserving or not? If Snake were never included into Brawl he wouldn't have been considered a deserving character by most, but now that he was in Brawl he is considered a deserving character by most. Whether or not you think a character is undeserving is really just a illogical argument to use, it's up to Sakurai and his team to decide if a character is deserving or not, not you or anyone else.

With that said I agree with everything else you said about her chances of getting in.

Bayonetta is far too risqué. Even if she miraculously made her way into the roster, she wouldn't be the character you all know and love.

Dead on. Zero Suit Samus is about as risqué as Smash is likely to get. So much of Bayonetta's character and personality is rooted in, or tied directly to, her sensuality. If she was included, she would definitely have to be toned down severely.

She has great potential (what with using her hair for special attacks) and I would love another butt-kicking woman on the roster, but the idea of having a (for lack of better word) neutered version of the character doesn't interest me much.
