1: How do you do recoverys like at 2:10 in - http://smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=170289

2: How do you make mines/c4 less obvious? I dont fight many wifi snake players because he is so hard to perfect, but ,when I do and they lay a mine/c4, i just remember where he put it, like he does, and dont go there until he blows it up to try again.

3: How is snake against zelda? Any tips beating her?

4: How do you do a dash attack and in the middle of the dash attack shoot the mortar whilst keeping forward momentum?

5: What is the best option for when enemys are trying to recover on the stage? Firing a high (charged) and uncharged rocket seems to work, also jumping off and fair, and other options?

6: Snakes weight, what category is he in? Is he hard to KO?

7: In the above video, when snake gets smashed off the stage and goes flying fast, he seems to turn in mid air, stop and come back down, how do you do this?

Thats about it, thanks for your time :psycho:

1. That's a C4 recovery to stage tech. You drop the C4 off the cypher and immediately detonate to get your up B jump back. When you have too much damage (in the 150 above range) you have to DI the C4 explosion into the bottom of the stage and tech (press shield at the exact moment you hit) so that you don't get stage spiked to your death.

2. It really doesn't work against good players to try and "hide" your mines and C4 on the stage. Against certain characters like Wario, you can hide your C4/mine under a separable item (i.e. the bike) so that when they go back to it, it will explode. There are also certain stages (like Smashville) where the mines or C4 blend into the stage and are very difficult to see. Other than that you are far better off just placing C4 and mines in strategic locations and forcing your opponent onto them. Check out this guide on controlling the stage using C4 and mines.

3. Snake is alright against Zelda. Din's Fire is a *****, but I have never lost a match to a Zelda player before so I can't say that she outmatches Snake. Just watch for the projectile spam and her smashes and you should be fine. Zelda is pretty light compared to Snake so you shouldn't have a problem killing her.

4. It's called a mortar slide and you can find an in depth look at its mechanics here

5. Edgeguarding is all a matter of preference. I actually would not recommend fair off the edge as a means of edgeguardging since I find that it rarely work against skilled players. You are far better off jumping off with a nair, spamming mortars, using a nikita to shoot them down, shield dropped grenades, or some combination of the above.

6. Snake is really heavy (4th heaviest I believe) and difficult to K.O. Factor in some skilled DI and it is not uncommon to see a good snake live into the 200% range.

7. I didn't see what you were talking about, but it could have been a B reversal. Let me know what time it was at in the video and I will tell you what it was.

Ah, yeah I know what DI is, but whenever I try to do it I never get the same effect as the immediate mid air stop, dont really know how to do it in every direction I get smashed but Ill keep trying. Well, thats all my questions answered :p thanks, surprised snake is so heavy as he doesnt look anywhere near as big as bowser/dk etc. I also have no idea how teching helps ( I didnt know what it is until thor said it was shielding when hit) So I will try to incorporate that into my play style. And yeah, I am a noob, but wvery one needs to learn before they are pros right?: P

To add to the answers to your 2nd question, I once saw some neat trick involving a fight on Shadow Moses that found Snake actually using a codec call to cover up his movements, or at least distract from them, in order to place c4 and a mine on the bottom floor.

anyway, its not about tricking your opponent with them, its about controlling the field, as they said.

and the moving platform on smashville is ace for C4. love it.

Thanks :) Also I was thinking, zelda will always try to get you in the air to use sweetspots, u tilt and u smash, but, if you are above zelda, can you just drop a C4 on there head and blow it up on the way down? Basically killing zeldas ability to u tilt and smash, 2 of her most powerful moves?

Also any one got any guides/advice on how to properly DI?

Also, after pressing B, how long is it until the nade blows? I heard its good when there is 2 seconds left to run up to an enemy and shield next to them

If you plant a C4 on the very edge of the center platform in Yoshi's Island, it may be very hard to spot. Try it out.

Its about 3-4 seconds for the nade to blow up, it helps with trying to make the nade explode on impact and that kind of stuff.
