I'd say a lot of Snake tactics have to do with spot-on timing.
Also, mastering control of the nikita (not so difficult) and all the grenade techs listed in this forum.

Watch some competitive videos to get an idea, look at basic Snake game like Nakita cancelling and grenade dropping, and then just fight some friends online.

If you have to do solo, practice on computers and anyone online.

When I practice any fighter I always work on my execution . .thats very important to me. The better you execution you have the less chances there is for you to mess up in the heat of battle getting the move you want out. Which in tournament play is key

One vital tip: Dont rely on smashes for KO's. Snake is far more unorthodox than every other newcomer here and his KO's come from his standard move set, hell even his AAA combo has the ability to KO in the right conditions. Not saying the smashes have their perks; Fsmash is ungodly strong but the range is short and the lag is heavy, Usmash requires some nifty aim or luck (unless you Cromslide it), and the Dsmash is proximinal so you can trip it by accident or your opponent can trip it via projectiles.

Everyone else covered the other tips though, youtube some tourney vids of Psycho ****** killing everyone in sight, practice and work on timing.

btw you dont need fancy grenade/nikita tricks to win. just use his bread and butter (f tilt, AAA, nair) well and the grenade tricks are just extra stuff to make your game better

Ditto what Jeff and rigapeen said.

- Stick to F-tilt and AAA for ground pokes (I also like to use D-tilt).
- Short hopping Bair and Nair to approach.
- Uair for is also good for verticle KO's
- Fsmash and Dsmash will get you killed if used aimlessly, so steer clear for the most part.

After you get those basics, watch some vids for nikita and nade tricks.

For me, It's a combination of two things:
1) Awareness of properties of all his Aerials
2)Having a hold on his projectiles.

I mainly side with everyone else, videos are good. He's also got quite the edgeguard game thanks to mines and the Nikita.
