So, Youko, how badly did you own everyone at the tournament, eh?
But seriously, how'd you do with it? And how are things looking with the SamuraiPanda project? Anywho, on with the review!
The Rundown:
Sep. 10 Mon. 2007
Munchlax was a disappointing update, if you ask me. He would’ve made an excellent playable character! Plus, what they have him do as a Pokéball is just stupid, which made things even harder on Munchlax supporters. But I guess to every let-down update, there’s always something hidden in them that hints something good.
Take for instance, the “You Must Recover!” update. Wow, we’ve got to save ourselves, who knew?! Well, who knew that Mario could recover from such a long distance? >.> It’s the same thing with this update (only more of a let-down). As you said, we now are confirmed with fourth generation Pokémon appearing in Brawl. Sure we had the Pokémon Stadium update, with the 4th gen. flying type in the background, but that wasn’t as clear and intentional as Munchlax was.
Another thing that this update shows is that Sakurai won’t
completely take sides with the popular character suggestions. Sure he’ll add some, for the pure pleasure of the fans, but know I can have a little more hope for the little guys (e.g.: my brawl hopefuls).
Still would’ve made an awesome character though >.>

“Two item updates in a row? Ugh, just ugh”!
What makes it worse is that they weren’t even normal items, but a Pokéball and an Assist Trophy. That kind of pushed this week further down the drain. But wait,
LYN as an Assist Trophy?!
TWO disconfirmations in a row?! There is no more drain anymore, now I threw this week in a fiery furnace!
Lyn would’ve made another awesome character for Brawl! Not only is she one of the main lords, but she’s a female character, and Smash needs more female characters! Plus. she’s just bad-***! But again, there’s another hint of good to the update: the whole “mothering Roy” thing. Though, I don’t know if that update really helped Roy’s chances. It could’ve, but who knows?

“Dream, tree! Dream! Tree!” that got a chuckle out of me.
It’s actually good to see a Kirby-related stage that’s not all fruity and happy. I just really know what the music will be for that stage—but not that it really matters, with the whole “My Music” thing. But it doesn’t hurt to want to know.
Does Metaknight have a music theme? o_O
Anyways, people have been comparing Mute City to the Halberd? I thought it was Delfino Plaza everyone thought had similarities. But again, that really doesn’t matter. The Halberd indeed looks interesting, and I’m curious to know if there’s any more hazards, or extra space of the level. It’d be so awesome if you could actually go inside the ship!
Overall a good update, but still not enough to counter two horrible ones. And with that, we get yet
another tease from Sakurai! Oh man—how I hate those >.>.

(kind of went out of order there, Youko. Lol)
The Ice Climbers look absolutely AMAZING!—and I completely agree that their design is by far the most detailed and awesome yet! Also, the pose that they are featured with is just stunning, it just makes you want to go and hug them ‘till they die O.O
Or maybe I’m just getting a little too weird.
Ah, the stage for the Ice Climbers…
Someone’s suggested a rather good possibility in the stage discussion, which is Icicle Summit. This stage would actually be relative to the Ice Climber’s only game, with the colored blocks and probably some cameos such as the vulture. It’d be a good stage, but only as long as it doesn’t scroll again! I mean, Rumble Falls is quite a letdown of a stage already!
I actually thought that the screens we got from Sakurai were the best displayed for any other character update that we’ve got to date. We get their awesome-looking pose, a hint on how their footstool jump will work, return of the blizzard special, and… another taunt? Many have speculated that since this “taunt” is so similar to the victory pose which was in Melee, that the characters might be announced the winner on the actual stage they were just fighting on, instead of some dark void. That is completely awesome in my opinion.
Oh and, yet again, we’ve received another tease from our beloved Sakurai.

Not much to say about “Madness Melee”. I thought it was a rather awesome update, and it’s much more simple and awesome than the special mode we’ve received from Melee. And, mainly because of the Heave / Light gravity option
Camera mode was a waste in Melee? That’s how most of the fan-made shows such as “Smashtasm” were made. Unless they use a different mode constructed by AR that I’m not aware of. Also, it was just fun to save some awesome poses and fight screens onto your memory card. Recently I took a look at the ones that I have stored there from a year ago:
Green G&W with turtle out, next to the Ternima Great Bay turtle.
And just other fun crap like that. [/longrant]
Awesome Rundown this week, nice job Youko!

Brawl Viewpoint:
Sweet, colbusman!
Who put that awesome music in? o.O
Although there’s not much to comment on what you actually said, you did an excellent job with this viewpoint! You were very articulate and enthusiastic, and not just some mono-tone. Again, AWESOME music! Fit so well with your viewpoint… dang! >.>
This was my favorite Brawl Viewpoint, just to let you know.
EXCELLENT job!
