Welcome to the inaugural tournament for the tri-state metro area! Hosted by the Marshall University Smashers, we are conveniently located in a central position between WV, OH, and KY. We hope to foster an environment in which Smashers from the entire tri-state area can grow and connect, as well as elevate the WV competitive scene. Tell your friends, tell their friends, bring them all. Let's make this the start of something special.

If turnout is great and there is interest, the establishment of a weekly tournament will follow.

We will be livestreaming (at the very least) All noteworthy Sm4sh matches, with commentary. Will also be livestreaming Melee, if possible. Do you have what it takes to get on stream?

Venue fee: $5

Venue fee discount: WAIVED if you bring a full setup (TV, and Wii-U w/Sm4sh AND GameCube Adaptor, Wii OR GameCube w/Melee) but only if we have a need for your setup. All those who bring one will be put on a list, and if your setup is needed for tournament matches your fee will be waived. All setups must be updated to latest version, DLC downloaded.

Entry fee: $5 for singles

Entry fee exception: $5 per person for doubles, $3 per person for triples/squads

Schedule: (times are flexible in case tournament is behind or ahead of schedule)

12:00-1:00 PM: Registration

1:00-2:30 PM: Sm4sh, Melee Doubles

2:30-3:00 PM: Doubles Finals

2:30-4:00 PM: Sm4sh, Melee Pools (If needed, and as setups become available)

4:00: Sm4sh, Melee Bracket begins

6:00: Sm4sh, Melee Finals

~6:30: Sm4sh Triples/Squads tentatively begin (will depend on interest, time constraints)

Rule set:
Sm4sh Singles: 2 Stock, 6 Minute matches
Sm4sh Doubles: 3 Stock, 7 Minute matches
Customs illegal, DLC characters (Lucas, Roy, Ryu, Mewtwo) legal. Mii fighters with 1111 move sets and default sizes legal.
Melee Singles and Doubles: 4 Stock, 8 Minute matches
All brackets will be double elimination. All pool and bracket matches will be best 2/3, until winner's finals, loser's finals, and grand finals, which will be best 3/5. No bans in 3/5 sets.
Ties in pools are determined in this order: Sets - Games - H2H

Hospitality: There are restaurants nearby, as well as two hotels if needed. For convenience, there is also a speedway gas station. To be safe, bring cash with you, as I can't guarantee ATM access.

There will likely be enough setups to keep the tournament running on time and have friendlies, but to be safe please bring a setup if you have it. Even a power strip can help.

The entry fee for both melee and smash 4 singles has been dropped from $10 to $5. Just an FYI for those who were worried about price. Hopefully it encourages cross entry for both games.
