Venue Fee:

To counteract the cost of renting the building, there is a non-refundable $13 venue fee for all entrants. Discounts are available to reduce this fee.

The Venue Fee does not go toward the Victor’s Pot for each tournament.

Victor’s Pot:

After the Venue Fee is paid, entrants must pay a fee that is put into the Victor’s Pot.

The Victor’s Pot fee is $5 for each tournament. No discounts are issued for the Victor’s Pot fees.

Discounts:

In order to compensate you for allowing us to use your equipment, we offer a discount for the use of your equipment for the duration of the tournament.

If your equipment meets tournament regulations, but are not used, you will still receive your discount.

Note: There is a maximum of $4 that one entrant can receive from discounts.

The discounts we offer are as follows.
  • Full setup (Game system, game, and requirements outlined under Equipment) - $1 each
  • TV (all are accepted as long as they work) - $1
  • Multi-Tournament (If entering three or more tournaments) - $1
  • Distance (Traveling 50 miles or more to play) - $1
  • Pre-Registering (Register before January 14th to receive) - $1

Payout:

For all tournaments, the payouts are the same:
  • 60% for first
  • 30% for second
  • 10% for third
Percentages are taken from the collective Victor’s Pot fees for each individual tournament.

Concessions:

Will be available on-site and will be provided until we run out. Concessions open at 10:30 a.m.

Itinerary Notes:

Please be to your respective tournament approximately 30 minutes early. Once the tournament begins, no more entrants will be accepted.

Know that we are flexible, and if there are still people in line at the beginning of the tournament, we will extend registration as long as we can.

You may register for all tournaments at once when registering. It is not necessary to wait until the tournament to register.

A Tournament will end whenever Grand Finals ends. If there is a time constraint, we may ask for equipment to be broken down before a tournament is over in order to make room for the next tournament.

Equipment:

Full Setups:

You will receive $1 off for each full setup per system as required below. This includes unlockables and DLC within the games themselves.

Since this is a community tournament, bringing your equipment makes this tournament run smoother.

For this tournament, the following will provide you with a discount if you bring them with you.

Make sure that all equipment is labeled. We want to make sure that you go home with your own equipment, Timothy!

We are grateful that you are bringing your system. Please be sure that each setup meets the requirements outlined below. These are only the basic requirements, unlockables, and DLC. Naturally, Smash 4 has the greatest range of requirements.

We may lack the power splitters and extension cords to use everyone’s equipment, so if you have either an extension cord or a power splitter, please bring them. This will help the tournament run smoother as well.

Certain equipment will be rejected, not because we’re pathetic, sadistic, losers with a sick sense of fun. In reality, we will reject certain equipment solely because it does not meet the requirements above. Any rejected equipment will not receive a discount.

However, if you bring equipment that meets tournament requirements and it is not used, you will still receive your discount.

Please remember to bring all of the components, as we will check them when they are set up. We are very appreciative of you bringing your equipment, so please bring it all so we can enjoy it all.

Some easily overlooked equipment that may be rejected includes the following:
  • Wii’s without Gamecube ports
  • Wii U’s without Gamecube adaptors
  • Outdated Project M cards
In order to get a discount for bringing your equipment, please make sure that it is fully tournament legal, as well as fully functional. Obviously. “Tournament Legal” is defined as follows:

Televisions

Other

Though it will not give you a discount, please consider bringing power splitters and extension cords if you have them. This will help us hook up more setups at once.

Controller Regulations:

Any controller is acceptable for any system, as long as there is a slot for it, unless it is a Gamepad. Competing with Gamepads is banned. This is due to the fact that only one Gamepad is allowed per console, so if two people want to play on the Gamepad against each other, one would have to give it up. Simply banning this will avoid this conflict altogether.

Also note that the 3DS is allowed for gameplay as a controller. Download the 3DS Controller from the Nintendo eShop before the tournament to use it.
