    • Wii remote

    • Wii remote + nunchuck

    • 3ds/N3ds

    • Wii classic controller/classic controller pro

    • PDP Fight pad pro (Hori Fight pad not allowed)
  • Customs off.

  • Only 1111 variants of Mii Fighters are allowed.

  • In-game pause feature to be disabled

  • If time runs out, the person with the most stock left (or least % if they are equal) wins. (If the % is equal as well, play a 1 stock 3 minute match, same characters and stage.)

  • Singles
    • 2 Stock, 6 minutes

Administrative

  • For easier reference and if it is clear, losers in a Match Tie situation are to Self-Destruct (SD) during Sudden Death. (So that results screen remains accurate. If it is not clear, players are to end the sudden death, save the replay and wait for further instruction.)

  • Any L+R+A+Start rage quits will count as a forfeit of the SET.

Match Proceedings

Starter Match:

  1. Character Selection
    • Both players pick their character simultaneously. (Either player may opt for a double blind pick)
  2. Stage Picking*
    • Random selection of player 1 and 2 to start banning. (via coin-toss, scissors-paper-stone or any other random minigame)

    • Player 1 bans a stage, player 2 then bans 2 stages. Player 1 then picks from the last 2 stages.

Subsequent Matches:

  1. Character Selection
    • Both players have the option to switch characters, starting with the winner of the previous match. Thus allowing the chance for the loser to counterpick.

  • Stage Picking*
    • Winner of the previous match bans 2 stages from the list of Starters + CounterPicks.

    • Loser then selects the stage to play from the remaining roster of stages.

*Gentleman's rule: any stage in the Smash4 roster may be played if both players agree on it.

  • Stages (Starters)
    • Final Destination
    • Battlefield / Miiverse
    • SmashVille

  • Stages (Counterpick)
    • Duck Hunt
    • Town & City
    • Umbra Clock tower
    • Dreamland 64
    • Omega stages (Banned wth FD)

*Omega stages may be used as an alternative for FD after the first round. However, both players MUST come to an agreement when choosing an Omega stage.

If players are not able to come to an agreement, Final Destination will be chosen.

All Omega stages are banned if FD has been banned.

Melee Rules

Double Elimination

We will be following the standard Melee Ruleset by SmashBoards
http://smashboards.com/rulesets/melee/

General Rules
  • Game Settings: 4 Stocks, 8 Minute Time Limit
  • Items are disabled.
  • Stalling with moves such as Jigglypuff's Rising Pound or Peach's Wall Bomber is banned
  • Glitches such as Ice Climbers’s Freeze Glitch and Mewtwo’s Soul Stunner are banned.
  • Pause option is disabled in the game menu. If left on, accidental pausing mid match forfeits a stock.
  • You may not choose any stage you have won on during a set, unless agreed by both players.
  • A tie is determined by most stocks, and then if still tied, by percentage. If percentage is tied, the match is fully replayed.
  • Playing as Master Hand is banned

Doubles Rules
  • Friendly Fire enabled
  • Life stealing stocks from a teammate is allowed

    Stage List
    Neutral Stages
    • Final Destination
    • Battlefield
    • Yoshi’s Story
    • Dream Land
    • Fountain of Dreams [Singles Only]

  • Counter-Pick Stages
    • Pokemon Stadium [Singles Only]

  • Match Procedure
    • Players select their characters. Either player may choose to Blind Pick. In this case, each player secretly tells a third player their character before picking with the third player verifying their selections.
    • Players play Rock-Paper-Scissors. Winner chooses between selecting controller port or first Stage Strike
    • Players take turns removing stages from the Neutral Stages list above based upon the results of the previous rule. The first player to strike removes one(1) stage from the list, the second player removes two(2), and the first player then chooses from the remaining two(2) stages.
    • The players play the first match of the set
    • Winning player of the preceding match bans a stage from the full list of stages, both Neutral and Counter-Pick. Does not apply to Best of 5 sets.
    • The Losing player of the preceding match picks a stage for the next match. Cannot choose the stage banned in the previous step, nor a stage they've already won on during this set, unless agreed.
    • The winning player of the preceding match may choose to change characters.
    • The losing player of the preceding match may choose to change characters.
    • The losing player of the preceding match may change their controller port.
    • The next match is played
    • Repeat Steps 5 through 10 for all subsequent matches until the set is complete.
