Hey everyone,
I just was curious to know if anyone else has had this experience. I've played Smash for years, nearly a decade now, and besides the exception of these past few months I have gradually grown in my gameplay which can only be described as "at a snails pace" For years I played smash with my friends, I'd beat them, and nothing ever changed. My friends and I felt that we were "great" at the game. Until we tasted a tourney for the first time and ate it hard. We realized we had zero comprehension of the game and its intricacies after getting blasted out of the competition in the first round to a bunch of Oregonians mind you. Even after we didn't progress all that much.
Then one day I discovered Project M (dont worry i wont be discussing that in the Sm4sh forum just hear me out) which lead me Directly to this Site, Smashboards. however I didnt utilize this site properly until the day I bought my Wii U and Smash (January 20th).
Not long after that I started using this site for Amiibo training suggestions (mid febuary) which rapidly lead to me for the first time in my life picking a MAIN (yes shocking that I played rando for nearly 10 years) and researching and discussing various techniques and strategies (April-ish) . In the span of just two months my gameplay has Massively improved. By leaps and bounds I am not the same player I once was at all. I'm confident enough now to say I can enter a tourney and hold my own.
This has also made my friends much better players now as well.
