The Smashboards Rankings has passed over 200 brackets in under 1 month since the system was launched. Tournament Organizers have been busy uploading results but they need YOUR help. Did you attend a tournament? If that tournament is uploaded, claim your ranking! Claiming a ranking is easy - just select the bracket, click your name, and claim the result. If you attended a tournament that hasn't been uploaded yet, send a message to your TO and pursued them to get your results uploaded. We currently have over 100 tournaments in a queue and with the help of @chain-ace will be seeing the majority of the SSBPD uploaded soon. The SSBPD includes over 300 tournaments going back to 2003 - if you attended any of these events make sure to check back and claim your rankings once they are uploaded.

The Smash community has held over an estimated 7,000 tournaments since 2002 with 10s of thousands of players across the major Smash titles. The Smashboards ranking project hopes to be the most complete catalogue of information about these tournaments but we need the communities help to submit brackets, claim rankings, input characters, and push fellow Smashers to submit their results.

Current Tournament Bracket Tally
Super Smash Brothers 64 - 4
Super Smash Brothers Melee - 120
Super Smash Brothers Brawl - 37
Project M - 66

Current Player Tally (CLAIM YOUR RANKINGS - THIS NUMBER SHOULD BE HIGHER)
Super Smash Brothers 64 - 12
Super Smash Brothers Melee - 216
Super Smash Brothers Brawl - 54
Project M - 146

You guys NEED to implement some way of searching through bracket entrants to find tournaments you have attended more easily. If I search for "Bones", no results come up because the SmashBoards user "Bones" hasn't claimed any results yet. How am I supposed to find results with my name listed in them if I can't search the name I use to enter every tournament?

If for some reason that isn't possible, there should at least be some regional tracking going on. I don't see any reason why the location of each tournament cannot be listed which would then allow me to at least filter through all of the tournaments in MD and VA to manually search for ones I recall entering.

I'm not trying to complain because I think the system is off to a great start, but something has to change in order to actually get people to start getting their placings linked to their profile.

Once the system is 'current', people will simply need to check up on the results threads of recent events they attended (Much as they usually to) and ideally the results will be embedded right there for players to claim. As well, we have a team of Tourney Moderators very familiar with many players and their relative accounts who try to handle claims on peoples behalf.

During this period of establishing a backlog of past events though, it's gonna be a bit of a task.

Would it be possible to see what tournaments certain characters have placed in?
Like clicking on Falco and seeing all the tournaments he placed at?(And shortening it down to like top 8, top 4, etc)

I guess, but I still think including the tournament's location would be a neat addition for regional statistics, and it's best to start now while past tourneys are still being uploaded rather than having to go back and add it all in later.

I'd also like more frequent updates. There has only been one update since the site got this feature.

BTW, are we supposed to see the "League controls"?

Can we get a dedicated smashboards rankings suggestion thread, please?

Also, +1 on Bones’ local sorting request. I’m currently looking for a rankings system that calculates the player seeding from tournament results, and smashboards rankings would be the most logical choice. However, as long as I have no way of showing all Melee player ranks of my region (Europe / Austria / Vienna), I can’t make use of it.
