Event - Apex 2015 smash wii u 1v1 late entry - is it possible?

i had problems with the apex website on 4 different occasions. it was overloaded, down, whatever. they even extended it a day, but then the server was still down during the extension. i get i shouldn't have waited until the last 5 days, but really, it was kind of ridiculous that for almost a week i couldn't access their website. additionally, their website is still down (and has been for the past few days), and i cannot find an answer to my question

i know melee is maxed out, but smash 4 isn't. so, to anyone who has ever attended an apex.. is a late entry possible? surely there will be plenty of people who registered and don't make it. will they take my money?
