Come show me your move at Smash Up Cen-Tex, a Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Tournament located in central Texas!
When:
January 19th, 2019 @ 10:00 am - Sign-ups will begin at 9:30 am.
Where:
Bethel Assembly of God located in Temple, Tx
Rules:
We will be hosting three different events
1) Singles
Of course singles, which will be 1 v 1 no items, no smash meter (see legal stages and counter picks below).
2) Doubles
Teams of two going head to head. No items, no smash meter, team attack on (see legal stages and counter picks below).
3) Squad Strike
1 v 1 games with 3 character squads. No items, no smash meter (see legal stages and counter picks below).
General Rules
Stages:
Stages are broken into two groups neutral stages (which can be picked for the first game by the winner of Rock, Paper, Scissors) and counter picks.
Neutral Stages: Battlefield, Final Destination, Pokémon Stadium 2, Smashville, Fountain of Dreams, Lylat Cruise
Counter Picks: Warioware, Yoshi’s Story, Yoshi’s Island (Brawl), Unova Pokémon League, Kalos Pokémon League, Skyloft
All stages with hazards off. Winner bans one stage, looser can pick any neutral or counter pick.
Picking Characters:
The first game players will declare their starting character to a third party, afterwards the winner will pick first and the looser second.
Additional Rules/Request :
Due to the venue being offered at a church, they have a few additional rules and request
- Minimize vulgar language.
- No smoking/Vaping on premise
- No alcohol on premise.
- Be respectful of the property.
** Failure to follow these rules may result in being asked to leave the venue without refund.
Event Cost/Winnings
The event will cost $10 per event, or $25 to participate in all three. (Can accept cash only).
Additionally, if you can present a filled out bulletin from the church from January 13th you will receive
an additional $5 off any fees. i.e. one event = $5 two events = $15, three events = $20.
Alternatively, the first 5 people to bring a full rig (Console, Dock, and GameCube adapter) will receive a discount of $5 (Can stack with bulletin if participating in all three).
Winnings will be determined by the amount of participants
1st gets 60% of pot - determined amount in that event.
2nd gets 30% of pot - determined amount in that event.
3rd gets 10% of pot - determined amount in that event.
The event will be streamed if the church has wifi, if not featured matches will be recorded and published to YouTube at a later date.
