You don't have to go frame by frame to tell it's not a waveland. Just look at the smoke/dust that he kicks up when he lands; it's the kind that comes up when landing from a freefall (which means his aerial attack had auto-cancelled by then) IE the white "flame" looking thing and the puffs of smoke whereas a waveland would just have the puffs of smoke. Looking at it frame by frame tells what happens next: he dashes, falls through the platform, turns around, dashes, and then dash attacks Wario.
The scene with Pikachu opens with Pikachu in the air and smoke clearing on the ground around him which suggests that he missed a tech and is up in the air after bouncing off the ground. He then lands, is lying there for a few frames, and then rolls out of it and off the platform.
