Smash 3DS Smash-themed NEW Nintendo 3DS?

I've seen somewhere that a smash-themed NEW Nintendo 3DSXL is coming out. Is it true? I know there is a Smash Bros 3DSXL but it's not the new 3DS model. It even says it on the Nintendo Japan website but I don't know if they're talking about the current one which came out today or they're making another one for the New model. I'm planning to get the Smash bros 3DS XL but I'm unsire if they're coming out with a smash bros New 3DSXL. Little help here?

The Smash Bros NEW 3DS is Japan only for now. It comes out in November as you can see from that ad. America and PAL have no release dates for the New 3DS yet, it's probably going to be around January or February at the earliest. If you want to play Smash on 3DS I'd suggest buying one now. Waiting 4 more months is going to eat you up. If you're patient enough to wait 4 months for a Smash Bros New 3DS then kudos to you, I wish I had that patience. I literally had to stop myself from wasting 150 bucks on a Japanese 3DS .

mm thanks. I'll just get the XL. I don't seem to care about the features in the New models anyway.

This is just the normal XL. The new 3ds has plates for changing the design.

If you already have a 3ds you should wait. If you don't it's completely up to you, I suppose it is completely up to you no matter what. The New 3ds has better processing, a new stick which will work as a c-stick, and better 3d. It will also be getting exclusives. I just wonder if any of them are going to be games I care about.

The plates are only for the small version of the 3DS unfortunatly, the New 3ds XL doesn't support that feature. The picture at the OP is legit, you can see the two extra shoulder buttons pop up at the top of it

I'm too lazy to look through the threads to find the proper announcement as the SEO when searching New Nintendo 3DS and Super Smash Brothers usually reflects to New Super Smash Brothers and other ****. There's a link to a site you can purchase it at. It was revealed on the Nintendo Direct along with the Limited Edition MH4 'New' 3DS.
