Smash Running; new idea for a way to play Smash

This is not a thread about Smash Run, this is a thread about speed running, you have been warned

Smash Bros is an awesome game, it's brought together people from around the world in tournaments created and awesome community and brings all the characters we love so they can duke it out. But we've been missing one thing that a lot of other games have, speed runners. The speed running community for this game is extremely small. only about 10 people per Smash game even try and run it. there's no competition right now. So here's my idea, Smash Running. Taking Smash Bros up to speed.
I have started this thread so if decide to start running this game you can post it below and I will add you to the charts.


If you would like to send your times to Speedrun.com than here is a link.

I will start recording times that people send me and will create a new leader-boards right here on smash boards. Please use the formatting directions and just reply to this thread if you have any questions.

Hmm. Sounds like a completely different meta, an 'abuse the AI's weaknesses to smash/combo them to smithereens' meta.

That said, is there any plans on how to deal with possible future balance/AI patches and how it affects times?

The times shouldn't change to much, and I don't think there will be a lot of updates to the AI themselves other than simple nerfs or buffs to their moves.

If there is a big update to them then I will just update times like normal It shouldn't affect it to much and the times will still be there.
If it ever becomes a problem that the old times become impossible to beat because of the update, than I will move the times and only show the main ones in that version of the game.
