Bonk!
Smash Journeyman
Like most of us, when I'm not home enjoying the Wii U version of Smash 4 I like to whip out the 3DS version and play some Smash Run to unlock custom moves while still having fun. When you play Smash Run you can find yourself in situations where a difficult enemy like a Clubberskull or a Mimicutie are taking advantage of their super armor and just absolutely wrecking you, racking up your percent and slamming you into walls. Trust me you will get knocked around A LOT.
Before I started playing more Smash Run I would always miss my techs and end up getting stage spiked when I knew I could've totally teched it.
In Smash Run teching can be a real lifesaver as the blastzones are setup in ways where if you go too far off the screen when getting knocked away you can die as long as you get launched far enough. But it's important to know that the many walls, floors and ceilings on the map are still there even when off the screen. So with this knowledge it is actually possible to tech on parts of the map that aren't on screen when knocked back. This causes the camera to catch up to you and thus preventing a death, which is incredibly useful when trying to aggresively take down a boss character (enemies that kill you de-spawn if you try to look for them). Since I started playing more Smash Run I've become SOOOOOO much more consistent at teching.
Moral of the story: Try to tech a lot the next time you play Smash Run. It may just come in handy when in a real match!
