Captain Norris
Smash Lord
Smash potato is a mini-game that peopel have made up. If you have not seen the original video, watch it below:
Many people are enjoying this game, so I thought, "why not make some sort of ruleset?"
So, here it goes. Of course it is a W.I.P. (Work in Progress), so these rules and stuff will evolve. A lot of it is based on the video above.
The Two rules that these two had formed were:
1. Pocket The Tree
2. Don't DIE!
Those are pretty simple rules, but they are very vague, ad do not cover much. So, let's continue.
To expand these rules, a turn-based move system should be made.
So, here is what the first expanded set is:
1. Player 1 chops a tree.
2.Player 2 Pockets the tree.
3. Player 2 then unpockets the tree, trying to knock out the opponent.
Now here is where it gets tricky. It would be boring to make that all that can happen. That is where rule 4 comes into play.
4. The player not holding the tree can only use the villager's neutral special move, standing in place. However, the player that currently owns the tree can jump, use specials, or any other means of trickery to try to hit the opponent.
That is fair, right? That is basically all there is to it... or is it? Next, how to win.
HOW TO WIN
In order to win Smash Potato, you must take three stocks from the opponent. In order to set up the match, the timer is to be set on 10 minutes, and make it a three stock match.
A lot of this can be seen in the video, but there is one final requirement that you should do during Local Play.
You must utter "Smash Potato" as you release the tree. However, you may stutter or do other forms of trickery to hit the opponent.
And that is all there is to it, for real this time! Remember, this game is mostly a fun little minigame, but it CAN be played in a serious art. What do you think of Smash Potato? Should anything be changed or added? Post videos below of your own Smash Potato matches, and join in on discussion and strategy!
