INTRO 2.0

'Sup Smash peeps. Sorry for my long absence! A lot has happened since my last planning attempt, but I made a statement to the community -- as well as a promise to myself -- that I'd follow through with this venture.

Just so we're all on the same page, this is Blu (well, was). I made a thread or two a year ago about how, out here in Midwest FL, being an hour's car ride from any regular smashfests wasn't the most ideal environment for a player looking to improve. So I devised a plan to travel the country for Melee.

Long story short, I've hit an opportune moment to get back into the groove of things. With a job, savings, proper equipment, and new ideas, I'm now reaching out to the community with a new-found stability.

THE GOAL

When I start my circle around the United States in early 2014, Melee will be my main priority, with everything else working around it:

  • Most visits will be synced within a week's span of local, regional, and (inter)national tournaments.
  • Transportation currently consists of Megabus and Greyhound, with flights reserved for emergencies.
  • Besides Melee, I hope to visit my fair share of our country's historical landmarks.
  • I will also be recording all of my play, and I can bring good-quality streaming equipment to all smashfests and tournaments I attend.

HOUSING

Having numerous homes across the US would be nice! But sadly this isn't the case. And while I want to visit as many different regions as I can, none of this trip will be half as fruitful without your guys' help.

If you feel so inclined (and have a spare couch, or a piece of floor), I'd be thankful beyond words for an extra place to stay along the way! I'll have a 1-man tent with me, but camping will undoubtedly get old. I want to meet and play with all of you, so let me know if you can help out. =]

If you are in KC on a Saturday, you are welcome to come to our weeklies.

You probably wont get any sleep though, haha.
I'm willing to bet we could scrounge up some housing too, assuming you don't turn out to be too crazy (although strong badam did house M2K for like a week once anyway).

Thanks for the offers, guys!

In all actuality, I'm pretty introverted. I rarely initiate conversation; I learn about people moreso from observation (not to say I'm socially inept, though). I also can't not be polite, especially if I'm a visitor somewhere.

If you're ever in New England, you're definitely welcome at my place (Worcester MA). I haven't found many people in my area that play but that will hopefully change by the time you tour
