Smash on the Road: Community IRL

Hey everybody out there in internetland!

Super Smash Bros. for 3DS is just around the corner, and this community is buzzing with excitement; It's a great time to be a Smash Bros. fan. Seems like a perfect time to talk about a little community project that I've been thinking about for a few months now.

This project seeks to make the most out of one major aspect of Smash 3DS that I'm sure you're all aware of: portability!

You can play Smash anywhere! But portability doesn't just have to mean that you can play Smash by yourself on the bus, no sir! It also makes something else possible; the ability to easily meet other players in your area to make new friends and rivals.

This project seeks to decide on spots in cities all round the world to go and play local Smash with competitors face-to-face.

The first phase of the project is simply to gauge interest, and find a location to be a sort of "guinea-pig". So, if you're interested, post the following:

1. Your closest major city
2. An open, public space in the city that would be ideal for meeting up to play Smash (a park or square, for instance)
