Sooo I have no idea if there's already been a thread like this.
Marvel vs Capcom 2 featured Ruby Heart as an original character specifically for that game, and that got me thinking: if you could create/have one original character in Smash, who would it be?
They could be a playable character, assist trophy, sticker, trophy, stage hazard, menu guide, etc.

I am interested to read your descriptions and/or view your art, if you have any/are willing to make some.

I'm not a big fan of an entire new character, but I would like a only-Smash character. Maybe Master Hand or Tabuu have a chance.

Or, in Sakurai's case, Kirby would be that character.
I think I have mentioned this before, but I wish that Melee had a glitch that allows players to play as the Fighting Wire Frames. That would be interesting.
So, none of you have any ideas for your own character? If that is the case, I can't blame you. All I have for character ideas is some sort of hand to hand fighter whose moves have a lot of interaction with each other. For example, I had an idea where this character would have a B move that places a mark down in whatever direction you place it, kinda like PM Din's Fire. Instead of damaging enemies, the mark would change your B move to, say, a whip attack, but only while the mark is out. I was thinking that if you whip
towards the mark, this character would pull themselves to it, and the mark would dissipate.
You know, now that I'm describing this, it's actually helping me think of more ideas. Haha

Captain Falcon is kind of an OC. All of his moves were made for smash.

Oh, you mean like Smashland's Vaporeon?
Vaporeon would spit water as its forward B and do a flip for its up B (with virtually no recovery potential) but, if a puddle was on the ground, the character would teleport and flip out of it instead. Only one puddle could be out at a time and, if the up B was used on the ground, a new puddle would be placed where Vaporeon telepuddled from, otherwise, the move would revert to its near useless state until a new puddle was placed.

A Smash OC would need a purpose to be included, though, like their own story mode within Smash.

If I had to design one, it would be a kid that gets in a "trapped in a videogame" scenario; sucked into the Smash Bros. universe. He'd fight using Nintendo peripherals like a Super Scope, and Wiimote-lightsabre. In each of his alternate colours, he'd be wearing different Nintendo character T-shirts.

EDIT: Also, he'd be a totally radical dude.

Yeah, kind of like that.
For those who play League of Legends, I can compare it to Lee Sin's Q but the mark itself doesn't do damage, while being able to be placed freely.

Is this hypothetical character something of a 90's relic?

In my head it'll always be the 90s.
The dream of the 90s is alive in Portland! (Portland…)
The dream of the 90s is alive in Portland!
The tattoo ink never runs dry!

The dream of the 90s is alive in Portland!
All the hot girls wear glasses (yeah!)

The dream of the 90s is alive in Portland!
Sleep ‘til 11,
You’ll be in heaven.

The dream of the 90s is alive in Portland!

My flannel shirt still looks fly.

:roymelee: Roy was the original oc.
Roy was created before he was considered for Melee, though. Sakurai got a sneak peak at Sword of Seals and decided to add Roy instead of Leif.

Tabuu, Master Hand, and Crazy Hand are the main Smash OC's. I can't see them as anything but bosses.

An Anthropomorphized Master hand and Crazy hand. A faceless man in a suit, One hand outstretched, the other hidden behind his back...

SonSon, Ruby Heart and Amingo were very interesting characters in Marvel vs Capcom 2. I like the idea of a Smash OC.

Master Hand shrunk down and walking would be fine with me. Tabuu... not so much.

Master Hand works - he wasn't forced upon us and he is iconic to this game - which makes him an iconic Nintendo character.

I don't think he'll be in this game, but by Smash 5, he could likely have earned his place.

TBH I think an original character for smash would kind of defeat the whole purpose of smash, which is to celebrate all things Nintendo.

So kinda like a mix of Nester and Captain N, then? I would actually dig that a lot.

The master Hand is the original character from Smash.

When you think about it, the original Smash had the best story of all smashes.
It's basically a kid playing with his Nintendo Toy and making them fight each other before they have to fight himself !

But a Smash-exclusive original character would still be a Nintendo property.

Yeah, same here. I think I would like this hypothetical character even more if they were a girl. In fact, I'm even considering drawing and uploading a draft of said character.

Wouldn't Giga Bowser count as a Smash OC? He even had like a brief "story", if you could call it that, for Melee.
