Yes, it indeed was a well deserved win on Wizzrobe’s part. He played phenomenally well and was well situated even during game 3 when his percentage was high. He kept calm and was able to turn the tables against Hungrybox. I was not expecting him to win because of his high percentage against jigglypuff, but his pop off showed how focused and happy he was to finish the set 3-1 against hbox.Wizzy was looking robotic.
In game 1 or 2 (I forget) he showed off that platform drop fast fall-grab trick that seemed to really catch HBOX off guard. He showed a new way to play falcon, which was refreshing.
In game 3, he went down early, but was very smart and managed to retake the momentum going into the last stock. At the end, he KO'ed crouching Jiggs with a fast fallling late uair. Very impressive timing.
Well deserved, Wizzy. It was only a matter of time!
Falcon always has his moments in the melee clique. It feels like every once in awhile we get some pro player bodying people with falcon even with their 's' tier characters. Its exciting that Wizzrobe was able to win Smash N’ Splash 5 with Falcon, something that we haven’t seen in a long time. Not only that, but he was able to place top 8 in Ultimate with wolf. I’m not sure what’s happening, but Wizzrobe is on a roll. It’s great to see Falcon back on the map. Don’t get me wrong, he’s a great character, but this major win for Wizzrobe proves that it’s possible for Falcon to win a major. I remember seeing reddit posts dictating how doubtful people were about Falcon winning a major.
