I have a Smash emergency. I have not played Smash since the 90s but now I have to brush up on my skills fast because I have to play this weekend.

My little bro (bless his heart) is getting married in a few weeks. He is 30 years old so he's too old for something dumb like going to a *****-bar for his bachelor's party, so of course we're all going to play Nintendo games instead.

So I have to get some education, and fast. I need to pick a character, learn his moves, learn the basics of dealing with other characters and advance my skills enough that I can crush him. And I've only got three days...

I own a Wii but I don't have a Wii u. I also think I might have seen Smash playing on a kiosk at the Wal-Mart.

I barely remember anything about the game, except that I used to spam the Pikachu lightning bolt attack. I know that I'm not going to get tournament-level on short notice but I can't bear to be the guy who gets his butt kicked every round. I want to start by picking a strong character.

Please help!

Which game? If it's Melee, you're 13 years too late!

Anyways, welcome to Smashboards!

I should've mentioned that there probably won't be any 1v1 play. I'd be willing to bet that it'll be 4-person or more all night long.
