I really debated posting this here, but I just have to see how it goes. Why not, right?

EX is for experimental, as in we only use stages that are iffy so we can see how they impact matches.

TOURNAMENT STARTS 8:15PM EST, PRE-STREAM ABOUT AN HOUR BEFORE! MAKE SURE TO CHECK IN ON CHALLONGE 15 MINUTES IN ADVANCE!!!!!

Sign up is http://challonge.com/tournaments/signup/xcVivsqVjb . The sign up link will be open for roughly an hour after it opens, there will be a pre-stream during that time.

This is an experimental tournament, featuring stages people aggressively insist deserve a chance.

The winner gets Skullgirls on Steam!

The IRC is http://webchat.quakenet.org/. Put in your name in the nickname field and put #vsmash in the channels field. Use the IRC for all matchmaking, stage striking, finding your opponent, ect. (if you can, make sure your nickname, mii’s name and name on the bracket are all the same or close, it’s very hard to keep up with 3 different names per person)

The stream is on Twitch and the NNID you must add is Tournament_Host, it says it in the title of the stream, please don’t ask. Winner’s bracket is streamed, loser’s is streamed only when winner’s is waiting on loser’s. Streamer will choose 4 sets per round to be streamed, other rounds will proceed off stream, if the stream rounds end and you’re still waiting for your opponent to show and are getting no feedback they lose and you advance.

Max 32 Entrants

Best 2 out of 3, 3 out of 5 for loser’s finals, winner’s finals and grand finals

Double Elimination

Rules:

3 stock 8 minutes (if you’re being streamed a villager will suicide 3 times, I’ve tested it and he won’t interfere just ignore him and pretend he’s not there)

No Custom Moves

No Equipment

No Items

Stages:

Mushroom Kingdom U

Mario Circuit

Luigi's Mansion

Skyloft

Norfair

Orbital Gate Assault

Pokemon Stadium 2

Skyworld

Port Town Aero Dive

For the first match, both players select random, make sure your random stage switch only has these stages on the list. For the second match the winner can strike 3 stages (not counting the one previously played on) and the loser picks from what’s left.

Reminder that if you don’t strike any stages, the streamer will just pick whatever he wants, and you will play there or be disqualified. Also, remember to just ban stages on the IRC, don’t actually say what stage to play on as it might look like a stage you banned and we want to avoid confusion.

If the match is laggy there are no rematches, or restarts. I'm sorry, there's nothing I can do about it and I don't want to waste everyone's time.

If you don’t say anything in the IRC in 2 minutes and your set is last in the round, you lose a game, another 2 minutes and you lose another. We get that stuff happens but please let us know when it does so we can work around it instead of waiting.

It is double elimination, do not leave if you are in loser’s. This is a major **** move and messes up the entire tournament.

Don’t mess with Villager: Sometimes he spawns in front of one player at the start, it takes less than a second for him to double-jump up b out of the way. If you hit him he will hit back. Just start fighting immediately, so long as you don’t aim for him you won’t hit him.

I'm confused with the whole villager thing. Do we have to add him and have him in our game for every single round? It doesn't make sense
