I've had this as an idea now for the longest time, but what if we could make an online text-based Smash Bros. game together? The content list could be pretty much endless, as no graphics would be necessary. It'd play out like an rpg-inspired fighting game.
Basically, four contestants would face each other (or one-on-one) in an rpg-styled text-based fighting game. They'd chose an attack from their moveset (whether it be a Special Attack, Smash Attack, Aerial Attack, ect.) and the turn would play itself out. Based on attack strength and target's damage, a KO can be scored. Stages could determine the size of the arena as well as what Hazards would be involved. Items would randomly appear. It could be pretty epic if there's enough support.
First, we may need a programmer willing to make the formula generating codes and such, possibly generate computer player decisions as well and any other computer based decisions like what items and hazards appear.
Basically we'd need the basics to start with. Maybe 16 well-rounded, well-done characters to begin with. A few stages with plenty of hazards. Maybe 10 or so items as well as Pokémon and Assist Trophies.
Another idea, to keep matches interesting and take in as many movesets as possible, is to have each character able to know up to 5 or 6 moves per category. So 5 Side Special Moves a piece, 5 Forward Aerial Attacks, ect.
Please post your ideas here and any other comments or suggestions you may have.
