Smash Bros Pet Peeves?

What's your pet peeve when it comes to playing Smash Bros? Could it be game mechanics, rude friends, or unfair matchups?

I'll share my pet peeve. My pet peeve is when I play Mega Man in Smash Bros 3DS with my friends locally, and one of my friends yells out "What the hell who's the scrub that's using Mega Man take him out immediately and then start fighting" He's pretty notorious among our group for hating on anything that he has difficulty dealing with, such as Falcon's Knee of Justice or Ivysaur's Solar Beam.

I used to SD every time my friends would SD to even the match, but I was told it felt condescending and they hated it so I stopped lol.

I always played Marth and everyone would get super salty cause I literally only edge-guarded and only used f-smash. This pissed quite a few people off and it kinda made my pet peeve people who don't learn. If I hit you with f-smash every time you jump at me, learn to block or get hit and lose.

My pet peeve is that the Smash community is divided into either Melee or GTFO or Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.

Scott Pilgrim being everyone who enjoys the other Smash games, and the World being Melee or the Highway.

People who pick a character, spam one move, have their opponent figure out how to beat that move, keep spamming it anyway and then complain about how they lost.

Really doesn't take much effort to just make a few other inputs, does it? Even if you don't know what they'll do, it's still better than just using Stone/Quick Draw/whatever over and over again.

I haven't had this problem at all...

My biggest pet peeve is Melee eltitism. I have nothing against the game but Odin Allfather is it overrated. I guess I'd have to be a competitive guy to really get it but tbh I find Project M better in almost every way. Brawl mainly too

Edgehogging was always a pet peeve of mine, I'd always call out my friends for edgehogging me, callin it a dirty tactic and such.

People repeatedly saying "The Wii U version will be so much better" or how so many people do side B because they arent used to the 3DS and then go "This is going to be so much better with a GC controller". There is some truth to these but I've heard them so often, especially from Shofu's stream. And speaking of Shofu, them always saying BNF is the most annoying thing in the world.

I hated that when I would play Melee casually with friends. They always complained if I played as Link or Kirby (lol), so I picked up Jigglypuff and Luigi instead. I still won, I thought I was so great.

Then I started attending a group at my high school for hardcore smash players daily, and wow did I not know the true potential of Jigglypuff and Weegee until then. I had no idea how high the limits of the game were. KoreanDJ founded that club- needless to say I got a lot better at smash than I ever thought I could just from playing with the people who were still around after him. It was a full year before I won a match against any of them but I kept going regardless.

On the down-side, now I can't play Jigglypuff or Luigi casually :v

I like games, but not enough to flat-out skip education just so I can get a game. I really don't mind going to school for the whole day and getting a game about 15 hours after the release. Besides, a friend is getting the digital copy so I can see how the full game is like tomorrow anyways.

Example: I know people who only play Smash, nothing else, yet they will bash something like Mario Bros, calling it a kiddie game, or they will drink and party... and then turn around calling someone else a geek and a nerd. oh don't get me wrong i love my college just this 1 class that is a bit how you say outrages he wants us to do 2500 word research paper double spaced and i would have done that if he gave us more time

I think the main sin is the fact that you're not able to share your achievements on Miiverse. Smash 3DS disables Miiverse access, and you can't use the Internet Browser to upload 3DS screenshots, as you can only upload photos that are saved onto your SD/SDHC card if you try to do it.

Basically, the kinds of Smash 3DS screenshots that you can take are very limited without a capture card system.

A real pet peeve is when people on For Glory play as one character for way too many matches in a row. I get that you're trying to main Yoshi, but after seven matches, it's getting kinda boring for me. Just leave the room so that I don't have to... and you're Yoshi again...

To mess with these guys, I'll sometimes copy their character and color and snicker when they don't realize for a moment and sometimes run off the ledge thinking that they're me (way too many conjunctions in this sentence, but whatever...).

I'm sure they got their money's worth though. Mind you, it's not them I'm salty about. I just can't believe that Nintendo couldn't be bothered to have a worldwide release for their BIGGEST GAME OF THE YEAR! But sure, Pokemon will get one. Pokemon Remake....

Not really. Streamers and Youtubers who've imported the game have probably made a lot of ad money to make up for the expenses.

My pet peeve is how little said streamers and Youtubers play my favorite characters. I hardly see Peach or Wii Fit Trainer played on streams. Even characters widely believed to be bad like Megaman get lots of play due to their popularity.

I'm sure it's not a problem, but it's still there.

An additional pet peeve is when I'm forced to change my winning game plan because the other person is complaining about how "cheap" it is, and refuses to continue playing unless you stop winning.

people who intentionally wait for the timers to run.

people who insist on continued camping even when you keep pocketing their projectiles and throwing them back at their faces. (aka people who refuse to approach no matter what)

players who might be impressive if they practiced more than one single strategy (people who use the same three moves "because it's effective" but then fall apart when you figure out how to use it against them)

people who say "i'm canceling my preorder." if you were so on the fence, maybe you should think before you make a preorder.
