Here's the full map from Smash's 3DS Classic Mode!

All credits go to the fantastic people on Reddit who photoshopped everything together.

Shiny. Has any correlation appeared between the section of the map and the resulting difficulties, characters, stages, or other details like that? Kinda trivial, but it would be interesting if the "harder" path took you over the mountains and stuff.

I really want to be able to explore this world.

It's the Classic Mode map, by the way.

I just find it so weird - they created this beautiful, surreal looking world, just as window dressing for Classic Mode. But I'd actually love to explore it in a Subspace Emissary-like adventure.

I know using actual Nintendo locales for such a thing would be the ideal thing, but I honestly am not opposed to an original world. The problem with SSE's world was that it looked overly realistic. But this world looks very surreal, like many of the Smash characters could actually co-exist in it, and none of them would look out of place.

This is more of a ramble than anything, but yeah, I thought people might like to see this map. Would you all like to see the world depicted in the Classic Mode Map used for something more substantial?

Darn, the story you post makes me feel sad that there are no story modes on the 3ds, I really really hope they can still have cutscenes on the Wii U.

You may not care about this but

Do ya think Mr. Sakurai got the branching paths idea from Find Mii 2? It looks very similar.

I appreciate your Rosalina support ^_^ Lol

That would make an awesome wallpaper, but really it is strange how they sculpted that just for a back drop for one mode lol.
Pretty though!

Possibly. The first thing that came to my mind was Star Fox 64, though.

--------

I have provided an updated version of the image, that fills in the unfilled corners. Just a mish mash of other parts made all blurry, but the effect is cool.

And no. You're not the only one. This world is beautifully done. And it'd be a real great time to explore its secrets.

Open-world Smash lol but seriusly that world map, Jickys it could be better than ever, is sakurai focus more in story.
Still well made done after all just for one mode.

That map looks pretty awesome, the fire zone kinda reminds me the Eldin Volcano from Skyward Sword and I loved their map styles. This world has too much potential, if Sakurai implements it in the Wii U version I would be so hyped to explore it in full HD

Dayum, that is pretty. It looks alot like the world map from Kirby and the Amazing Mirror, I love it. I'm totally setting this as my desktop background.

I'm hoping that the map doesn't get just thrown away to never be used again

Really looking at this, this does look like it would fit very well for adventure type levels. Fit with very unique environments that all Smash characters would look cool going through.
Still, who knows if the actual levels would've looked like this. Doesn't hurt to dream though.

The world looks cool, for sure.

Quick question though - why do people name threads something generic like "I might be the only one, but..." - it's really kind of misleading and seems intended to have people click into it. It has been annoying me the past few days because there are a lot of threads like that here...

I only did because I'm talking about something really specific and really wasn't sure how to fit it into a topic title, so I decided to be mysterious instead.

I never really thought the world looked "realistic", or that realism is a bad thing at all. It's more that there's no landmarks everywhere. It's just "empty generic forest", or "empty generic desert", or "empty generic greenlands". No bustling cities, no awesome landmarks or defining features, just....forgetable random stuff everywhere.

The closest thing to a somewhat unique area I recall was that destroyed zoo-like place. And that's stretching it, 'cause it's still pretty boring. It was the boss on it that was interesting.

I really want to explore the Classic Map (basically your first two sentences combined) would have worked well enough.

Don't mean to single you out though either way - like I said the map does look really cool and a lot of people seem to do the same thing.
