Smash Bros Brawl Menus - Feedback?

Let me preface this by saying that I THINK this is a valid discussion topic. That is to say, I have not seen it discussed previously anywhere on the boards. If a mod decides this is inappropriate or needs to be moved, I apologize.

That said, I've been giving thought to the overall structure of Brawl's menus, including both organization and content. I've whipped up a sample of what I'd like to see, with some descriptions, and I wanted to see if there is any feedback on what should be added/removed.

So, here is what I have, in screencap form. A lot of what I have is unaltered from Melee, and that's intentional. I believe in the adage "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". I did add a number of changes, from subtle to more significant. So, here you go:

*EDIT: Added new category under II.A: Victory Conditions. This is a work in progress. I'm trying to think of how I'd implement it.

Interesting

Cool idea. And I noticed you threw in some ideas for some interesting game modes.

I hope trophies are back (maybe the action trophies will double as collectables), that sticker thing isn't my favorite, but it's O.K. I guess. However, the CD music collectables look really neat to me.

But I digress. It's interesting how they've decided to go with a bright new menu, as the previous Smash Bros. games were all done in dark areas. I think I like the dark interface better, but chances are when the menu screens are in action, the backgrounds will probably be moving all over the place, and the animated buttons and stuff will probably look and feel sleeker then the screenshots make you think.

Just a little lame ranting.

I'm sure we can come up with more game modes (like Gladiator) but it may be a bit much...
Anyways, good looking format, hope it actually works out similar to this.

Nice ideas, especially those regarding training. I think an actual dojo setup would be pretty cool.

Yeah, the dojo sounds cool. It'll be worth a few points being able to navigate the menus with the wiimote...I'll just switch to the GC controller for the fights. =D

I don't trust the way your Subspace Emissary opinion might work out. I think we should be capable of choosing our fighter. That way, we can see various paths for each fighter.

Yeah, I've seen that belief from many people, and I just don't see it happening that way.

1) They'd have to make a full-length segment of the story for each character (long enough to be a full 1P experience on its own)
2) You would never get the full story in one coherent piece. You'd have to play through the mode several times and piece together the story on your own
3) It would require many more levels in total than if there was just one set of levels that incorporated all characters

So overall, I think the chances are VERY small that Subspace Emissary will be as you and others envision it.

I think that they will keep trophies because of the whole this world thing you know. In this world, trophies fight. They know nothing but fighting. Fighting is the sole reason for their existence. Being turned back into a trophy, being unable to fight, is much like death... and so on thats just what I think.

In Sonic Adventure, you started the game with Sonic. When Sonic met up with Tails, you unlocked his story(So on and so forth for the other characters). It could work like this in Brawl.

Trophies will come back.

I'd like to see an unlockable video after you unlocked all the secret characters. It always bugged me in Melee that I couldn't see cool videos of all the secret characters.

This makes me hate the word 'Brawl' even more...it's so ugh...monosyllabic words always sound bad compared to polysyllabic words...

Cruel Brawl vs. Cruel Melee? the latter sounds way better...

You'll just have to wait for Super Smash Bros: Armageddon, or Super Smash Bros: Altercation

I think the "My Music" option would go under the "Collections" menu, considering you collect the CDs, but that's just me. I love collecting stuff...

I would love for the idea of individual stocks being changed. That would be awesome! Me vs my bro, 3 stock for me, 5 for him (and I would still own lol)

There is a special video of the secret characters. You can view it on YouTube somewhere.

I should also mention the difficulty level for the Subspace Emissary. There HAS to be a character select screen if you want to adjust the difficulty level of the adventure.
