I also remember reading somewhere that it was supposed to come with smash pre installed... this lack of direct information is really confusing me cause I have smash pre ordered but dont even have a 3ds yet :-( I want the new 3ds but I want the smash edition one... does anyone have solid evidence to all of this?

LMAO so true, like there isn't going to be custom smash covers for the new one, plus having a c stick should have made it geared towards the smash players from the jump

I don't own any handhelds yet, I was hoping to get away with purchasing a used 2DS to play smash on but it looks like I'm gonna have to shell out for one of them 3DS with the smash design on it...and later the NEW 3DS. Maybe I can trade in the smash design 3ds for big bucks at a later date if it becomes some sorta rare and valuable commodity.

Yeah, hopefully they do have Smash covers for the new one. I could easily see Nintendo making an oversight like that. I'll get the New 3DS with the Smash cover if it does come out, though.

You know what. I'm actually not a fan of the Smash 3DS. It's way to cluttered in my opinion. They should have went with a minimalist approach. There's just way to much crammed into a small space. It should have had just the smash logo on top and super smash bros on bottom. Even the slight change shown below looks better. It doesn't look as cramped. But it's still pretty cluttered on that top. They're also going to be upside down once it's open lol.

I was kinda pissed because when I heard about the Smash edition of the 3DS XL. I figured I was gonna drop the cash on another 3DS. Because I mean come on how could I not lol. But given how much I don't like this design. I'm pretty content to just stay with my A Link Between Worlds edition. Now that's how you do a sleek lookin 3DS. I mean just look at that beauty.

There's a place to make your own sig instead of posting your mains on your post, just highlight your username, and the menu for it should pop up.

Anyways, I really don't want the new 3ds that much right now, so I'm fine with this wonderful 3ds xl, a c-stick, z buttons, and more ram won't really influence me to get the new 3ds.

You probably could get some extra bucks for it, I dunno. But make sure to buy a New 3DS and transfer your content first.

September 19th. The game isn't releasing early, and price wise it'd probably be higher if it was bundled. the M&L 3DS comes around the same price now that it's been out for a while, but it probably won't happen with a new game.

I got the Red Pokémon one last year and I'm very happy with it- it's my favorite handheld system (and no, it doesn't come with the game). While I would recommend waiting for the New 3DS XL to upgrade, if you're dying to play Smash 3DS before then and don't have a system, this should be a solid choice.

While I do like the design on this one, I'm very happy with my Link Between Worlds 3DS and plan on sticking with it as it's my favorite design so far. Only thing is that I love this thing and it's just a matter of time before it's already overshadowed by the new 3DS

Personally, I don't see the point of buying one because the New 3DS is going to come out some time in the near future and probably cut the life of the original 3DS short. Plus there's a decent chance that one of the face plates will just have the Smash logo without all of the characters.
