Anyone want to do a special tournaments like ones with smash balls, items certain characters only, themed (like triforce tourney) and maybe even (although i won't be able to participate in these, because i only want to do wi-fi matches) metal tourneys, fast angled camera special mode tourneys

Note: naturally there won't be any blaming items if a bomb drops on you then it's counted

I like your idea man, mixin' it up in the competitive scene. Sadly people aren't always for these kinds of ideas.

These would be awesome but there's are huge core reasons why they don't work:

1. Attendance would be too low to support a tournament
2. Other game-types aren't very balanced, and contain even more abusable strategies, and when there's money involved you can be sure people will use them

Obviously many people understand how broken some final smashes are and how to use them. Limited character choices don't really ruin tournaments but it can only decrease the turnout. Metal tournies obviously would be extremely broken, I know of tons of moves that are almost infinites in metal mode in both Melee and Brawl. Fast-speed tournaments would be amusing, but suffers the same as a limited choice/themed tournament does: just a gimmick that doesn't alter the game balance but doesn't add anything either.

As for items... two words.
