Smash 64 texture replacement project

HI. Smash 64 is really boring visually so I'm in the process of replacing every texture in smash 64 and updating it to higher res textures. After that's done, I will extend the ROM and patch the ROM with the new textures so no more of that GLIDE plugin.

it is expected that by 2012 everyone will be running this UPDATED ROM and hopefully gotten rid of their 10 year old PC or actually gotten a dedicated graphics card rather than that onboard stuff.

The main reason why it lags is because it uses up more resources. Old PC + onboard gfx = lag

SCREENSHOTS COMING SOON

does it really have to lag more? I prefer zero lag and the same old textures if you ask me.

Sounds cool, I hope it goes well.

Keep in mind that if you post it on here, you're going to have to post a patch file, since posting a ROM has some legal issues that SWF doesn't want to deal with. :)

Impossible, each texture has his own memory space, Dark has a Extended Rom (24 mb) but he cant replace textures for the same reason

"It is expected?" Come on now, enough people lag already. Go play barwl if you care that much about graphics; personally, I'll keep my outdated textures and 0 lag. Even if I could run it (I probably could) other people would start lagging, and then Kaillera would be an unhappy place.

I think. I don't actually know what I'm talking about here, so feel free to correct me. My point is that expecting everyone to get better 'puters if the ones they have work fine for current smash is unrealistic.

Just found out Glide doesn't work too well with every game outside of smash64. Some RPG/Adventure games don't even work or still get some kind of graphical errors.

Is it so hard for someone to make a gfx plugin with no errors?

that texture pack is ODEEEE I can't even record with fraps on a dual core 2.20ghz with a Geforce 240M gfx card. I get like 30 fps. I don't even think those textures are optimized properly
funny, i cant record with fraps even without textures XDDDDDDD
