Smash 4's Roster Feels Underwhelming

Normally I post about game mechanics and such, but today's topic is something a bit different.

Anyone else feel like this roster for smash 4 is extremely underwhelming?

Still one F-Zero Rep
The unique Star Fix character (Wolf) cut
Adding unnecesary reps to a series that already has a lot (Rosalina and Dr. Mario)
Lacking the most requested rep worldwide (Mewtwo)
A bunch of clones that should have been decloned completely (Ganondorf, Toon Link), or unnecesary clones added (Lucina, Dr. Mario)
Clear favoritism (two new KI reps, and of all the choices, Palutena and DARK PIT)

I love the roster. If the leak is true and there are 48 characters that's a ton. I'm also super psyched Dr. Mario is back.

The reason Dr. Mario is back is so that people can play Mario like he was in Melee, with the Mario cyclone down B. It's not really a new rep, but its more of a bit of customization.

Also, the leaker I'm pretty sure mentioned that not all characters were unlocked, and among the locked characters I think they mentioned Ridley and Mewtwo.

Actually, Mewtwo is in a leak that came before ninka, and guessed DHD, Bowser JR, and I think the others too.
So Mewtwo super likely.

Clones just fluff the roster. Completely optional, and don't take anybodies spot or take anything away. It's like free DLC.

Dr.Mario is a clone if he was grouped with the clones though, so he's gonna have his own version of the FLUDD. [sigh]

You've never been around for a roster leak have you?

More to the point, Wolf wasn't entirely unique, and Sakurai may have felt that 3 Star Fox reps with somewhat similar playstyles was slightly redundant. 2 new clones (Dr. Mario not included) is absolutely nothing compared to what Melee and Brawl gave us. Kid Icarus favoritism isn't a big deal, Palutena is completely unique and Dark Pit is just filler.

The main thing is that whether or not the characters have the star power to warrant a roster spot, we've gotten fewer clones and more unique characters added than in any other smash game. Add to that the fact that the full roster may not have been leaked and I don't see this roster as underwhelming at all. To each their own I guess.

The roster wasn't fully unlocked, some characters still have a chance.

Like said a million times, no one knows if Wolf or Mewtwo was cut because we haven't seen the rest of them.

I'm gonna have to lock this thread because we don't know what the final roster is 100% for sure yet, I mean, as unlikely as it is, it looks like there's room for at least 2 more characters on the leaked layout.
