Smash 4 Spectator Mode

From what I have read in the SmashWiki it seems that Spectator mode will be as it was in Brawl. But I'm hoping it will be something different or implemented into the Online play with friends.

Fighting games nowadays allow parties your friends can join. It sets up 1v1 matches while the rest of the party spectates. After the match is over, the system pits the next person "in line" to fight the winner and it continues as such.

This would be a great addition to Smash 4 Wii U/3DS. Currently Spectate mode let's you watch strangers and bet on the winner but I would much rather watch my friends play. The system would work basically the same as I described above and the rules could be set beforehand. OR 2 of the players could just close their character gate and watch the same way ppl do in person. When the match is over, players can talk about things they saw or deliver salt lol. It would work just like friendlies do in person.

In Brawl, the only way to do this was to just kill yourself off so your character would not interfere. This isn't really an issue but it would still be cool if you didn't have to participate at all. Not everyone always has the opportunity to meet up so this would be a good way to still run friendlies with your friends.

In Brawl, you could bet coins online in Spectator Mode to potentially win big. However, that didn't seem as imperative in Brawl due to the relatively low use of coins.
It seems this time around coins will be of greater use, such as for buying customizable parts and trophies. Will you be using Spectator Mode? Could it be used in competitive tournaments (perhaps using local wi-fi)?

I had thought about making a thread for this but decided I'd only make the alt boss one.

Doubt I'll use it though. If I want to spectate a match it will be a tournament.

This is one of the modes i wanted it would be great to play with friends and watch them 1v1 and place some bets on them alot of fun.

I wish that I could watch my friends play and bet on the winner. Sometimes, I just want to see my friends fight, but I can't unless I am in the match. So, I have to kill myself an X number of times just so that I don't get in the way.

Watching your friends play and you betting would be a great idea and I wouldn't mind spectating live battles as well, maybe even spectate a live tournament (granted if we have online tournament play).

It's incredible we don't have any info on this, so I'm fearing the worst.

A lobby system is a must, at least with friends. Any fighting game around 2009 had those, it would be a shame SSB for WiiU doesn't. I pray to Kirby we get a lobby system at least on WiiU.

Yup! A lobby system is what I want most from the online portion of this game as I stated above. This needs to happen!
